Re: ARCH ENEMIES (Week 1): Carolina Panthers
Good defense is not all about the number of sacks recorded and Hall's sack count from last year doesn't mean much...different team, different players, only played in 7 games.

So you think that Delhomme is going to have all day to pass with the Rams non-existant pass rush, and that is they key to the game? Lots of catches by Steve Smith and the Panthers will win the game? Any other receivers going to get into the game, or do we just have to contain the all mighty Steve Smith?
Far easier said than done.....

I think this game is going to come down to which ever team scores the most points

Re: ARCH ENEMIES (Week 1): Carolina Panthers

It's interesting that our "NON-EXISTENT" pass-rush was right in the middle of the pack last year with 34.0 sacks ...

Given that we've upgraded the end across from Little with J. Hall and have a beast in Carriker to push down the middle, I would believe we'd get around 40.0 sacks this year ....

I wonder if some of these Panther fans aren't having a little QB-envy directed at the Rams ...

Or maybe it's RB-envy, since the Panthers have some real "studs" in the backfield ...

Or maybe WR-envy, since outside of Pudgy Smith, you don't have a recongizable wideout on your roster ...

Do you even have a TE on your roster that can walk and catch at the same time?

You need to quit worrying about the Rams D, because with that offense run by DUMBHomme, you'll be lucky to score 17 against anyone ...

Do the Rams even have a secondary or just a decent D-Line and ex Panthers at LB....

We're going to find that out on Sunday, just as you guys are going to find out if you have a quarterback or not.

Re: ARCH ENEMIES (Week 1): Carolina Panthers

And, for those who claim L. Little isn't in J. Peppers league:

    L. Little 60 Tckl, 57 Solo, 13.0 Sacks, 5 Stf, 7 FF, 2 PD
    J. Peppers 58 Tckl, 49 Solo, 13.0 Sacks, 6 Stf, 3 FF, 6 PD

And given the fact, that for the most part of his career, Little has played with, no pun intended, "little" or no help, puts an end to that trash ...

Again, you should be far less concerned about our secondary and more concerned about your lack of a reliable QB, RB, 2nd WR, 3rd WR, and TE ....

Meh....our "unreliable" QB has a proven track record of winning (no need to bring up past games) so there's n real concern there.

Our RB by committee is not unreliable per se just not as battle tested as SJ

Our 2nd and 3rd WR's > than your 2nd and 3rd DB's so not to concerned there either

Last year the TE ? woud have held more ater but Jeff King we are hoping is a pleasant surprise this year. he's been catching everything throw at him and our new OC has a history of involving TE's more in the passin game.

What has Delhomme ever won? He's a passive QB who is relied on not to "lose" games ...

Not sure I understand this logic. You point to a proven track record, but don't want to bring up past games? What is your version of his track record based on, selected games that take into consideration only the good and leave out the bad?? Let's face it, Jake has some things to prove and some questions to answer this year.

I was hoping subtly would suffice

You don't bring in David Carr if Delhomme has "a proven track record of winning" ...

You want to tell me it was Delhomme's play that carried Carolina to the Super Bowl?

Why do you want to bait me into a conversation about games he has won in the past (2004 NFC playoffs) only to give you the opportunity to flaunt the SB trophy

    I wouldn't flaunt the trophy ...

I find it funny that your "proven winner" is consistently on the hot seat, even more than ever this year ...
