I'm sorry. But thinking back when 5-0 was to go to safety, or Furrey was to move to safety or Bellasari was to move to safety, or Sehorn was to move to safety ... these lyrics haunt me ...

    RiffRaff:
    It's astounding;
    Time is fleeting;
    Madness takes its toll.
    But listen closely...

    Magenta:
    Not for very much longer.

    RiffRaff:
    I've got to keep control.
    I remember doing the time-warp
    Drinking those moments when
    The Blackness would hit me

    RiffRaff:
And the void would be calling...

    Transylvanians:
    Let's do the time-warp again.
    Let's do the time-warp again.

    Narrator:
It's just a jump to the left.

    All:
And then a step to the right.

    Narrator:
With your hands on your hips.

    All:
You bring your knees in tight.
    But it's the pelvic thrust
    That really drives you insane.
    Let's do the time-warp again.
    Let's do the time-warp again.

    Magenta:
It's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me.
So you can't see me, no, not at all.
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intention,
    Well secluded, I see all.

    RiffRaff:
With a bit of a mind flip

    Magenta:
    You're into the time slip.

    RiffRaff:
And nothing can ever be the same.

    Magenta:
    You're spaced out on sensation.

    RiffRaff:
    Like you're under sedation.

    All:
    Let's do the time-warp again.
    Let's do the time-warp again.

But thinking back when 5-0 was to go to safety...
Clearly a temporary move that would've given Archuleta's back time to heal.

or Furrey was to move to safety...
Who's to say that isn't going to work? That'd be his only chance of making the roster.

or Sehorn was to move to safety ...
That move was put in place before he came to St. Louis. Did you expect him to be a cornerback anymore?

or Bellasari was to move to safety...
It was a sixth round pick on a team that didn't have any glaring needs after the 2001 season. This was a move that was anticipated my several before the draft.

Re: Arch moving back to SS !!

Ok, we laid an egg in San Diego. Correct. However, I'm looking at this from a pure preseason perspective. Let's face it, starters go through the motions in the preseason ON THE ROAD more so than the guys playing at home. The starters. Not the backups, but the starters. We need to work on tackling, I'll give you that. However, there wasn't too much pressure on Brees either.

Moving Archuleta inside is the best move right now. His coverage skills are severly lacking, just remember the Jets game last year when Arch could have secured a win AND A PLAYOFF BIRTH of he just holds onto the INT in the Jets endzone. Shoot, I bet even Evil Disco could have caught that one. However, Arch dropped it like a prom dress. He is very good at run defense, and moving him inside gives him a different break on the ball, which seems to help him, opposite of playing back and sitting in coverage.

Actually, Furrey play most of the second half and made some plays. I think that he would be ahead of the rookies at this point.
We have some very atheltic DB's and that can only be a plus. Things will pan out, besides if the front four and the LB's do their job we won't have to worry about the DB's too much.:clanram:

Guys... We all know that our D is going to be torwards the bottom again with marmie as D coordinator. We have tons of talent which the players all contain. Marmie contains none

OK. So it is a misquote. But the chorus still could be heard singing:

You aren't going to convince some of us here 16 to discount our defense. I tend to try to not base my thoughts on a few things.

    1. Players in the Cardinals organization from 2001-2003. Those years were horrendously bad personalwise for the Big Red, and Marmie just got the brunt of it.

    2. Basing anything on just one year. If we did that, I bet Icky Woods will still be playing.

Well if we are, then a change will be made. Until then, crying about Marmie isn't going to help. You can scream about him all you want because that and approximately $200 will allow you to fill up the Escalade with gas.

For as much heat as last years D takes, I believe some will be surprised to find they finished in the middle of the pack (17th in the league in yards allowed), most of which can be attributed to the final month of the season. After the G.B. week, the D was 28th in yards allowed. That signals a D that is on the way up, unlike 2003 when the opposite was true.

Don't be fooled by either the Atlanta playoff game or the meaningless S.D. preseason game. This Defense will be improved over last season.

No, they certainly weren't good enough. Hopefully, their improvements have taken them a few steps closer.

Ok... If our defense will be good. Project the starting lineup and it isn't very good

DE Hargrove, Little- Hargrove will be bad again
DT Pickett/Lewis/Kennedy.. That isn't very good
LB Coakley, Claiborne, Pisa- Thats good
    CB Fisher, Groce/Bartell- Not playmaking
    S Arch, Stone/Atogwe/Hawthrone. Definetly playmaking
