Armey expected to step down :-(
Sad news indeed...I really liked this guy and think the last couple years he has not been allowed to reach his peek.
According to the ESPN Draft Guide 2006, Rams GM Charley Armey "is expected to retire after the draft, and the Rams may look to personnel director Lawrence McCutcheon to fill his spot. That'd be a good move, as he's more of a football guy than president Jay Zygmunt, an excellent cap manager who makes all the final decisions."

I will miss Armey. He's done a great job for us. Not sure about McCutcheon though. Are there any other quality candidates out there?

Re: Armey expected to step down :-(
Is there an issue with Zygmunt? I have heard from one (former) unamed coach that he's been a little bit too hands on (one of the issues surrounding Vermeil's exit).
