I think he should have fallen around 9 or 10.
And why should that be held against him?
Seems to me he should be held responsible for the runners that get past the 2nd level; not to the 2nd level. Of the runners that made it to the Rams 2nd level, 85 went no farther thanks in part or whole to Atogwe. That's more than most other FS's can say.
I think O.J is a bit underrated. Let's face it a team that has won 5 games over the last 2 seasons isn't going to get much notoriety. Nevermind individual player attention. So again, I do feel O.J. is underrated but will be climbing the list as Spags puts his stamp on our defense and entire team.
Statistics are misleading. OJ still misses a ton of tackles. He is a rising young player, who probably deserves to be a couple of spots higher (certainly above hamlin who i have always thought is massively overated). His number of tackles is very high because he is durable, around the ball and playing behind a terrible core of defensive tackles, meaning that the ball carriers are into the secondary quite a bit.
ramming speed to all

I agree that stats are not all-encompassing GC, but they are still a good indicator as to ability and performance. Atogwe misses some tackles, but that's to be expected when the guys up front aren't slowing anybody down. I wouldn't put Atogwe in the class with Reed or Polamalu yet, but he's a major difference maker who is only going to get better, especially under Spags.
Well here's to hoping that the rest of our defense could aspire to heights as lofty as 12th in the league. FS is just one step in the right direction.
I like 12......saves the Rams money
