I recently scanned some old photos for my Facebook page, including this one I thought you all might find interesting. That's me on the right (1987, age 19) in Cairo. Notice the hat...



The hat has long-since worn out, but I actually still have the old-style logo patch.

Old school is definitely where its at, the only yellow and blue regalia I own I got when I weighed like ninety pounds. For some reason I can't wear any of that stuff now...

I have to say the other guy looks a bit grim. Haunted,even. Is that Papa Avenger? Possible thought bubble: "Kid pukes in my bathroom again after one beer & I'm having him mummified,I swear."

I honestly don't remember what the drinking age was in Cairo. I suspect that if you were an American with $$$ (the exchange rate was very U.S. friendly back then) they wouldn't ask too many questions.

That beer was called Stella and it came in a bottle that was something like 30 ounces.

The other guy was a friend from Denmark (I always thought he looked a bit like Simon LeBon from Duran Duran). I was in Cairo with him and another friend for a 4 day trip at the end of a Summer in Israel.

As for the hat... I wish I still had it too, but I wore it a lot (and in a lot of places). It had a good life.
