Donnie Avery (stress fracture) is no longer wearing an orthopedic boot and is lobbying for an earlier return than his four-to-six week prognosis.
Even if he is out for one month he would be very doubtful for Week 1. Stress fractures need rest and it's unlikely the Rams will allow him to rush back just because he says he feels good. It sounds like he's ahead of schedule, but we're still letting another owner take a risk on him.

Great news indeed! Definitely looking like 4 weeks rather than 6! Of course since MB's out for two weeks, if they could just get back at the same time it'd be perfect.

I draft for week 16 anyway, not week 1, so now I can jump all over Avery in my FF drafts.

I hope the decision to get rid of the boot was cleared by medical. Regardless of how he's feeling, he needs to take it easy so that injury heals and he can return. I hope he doesn't try to rush back thinking he feels okay to do so and then has a setback.

Exactly Nick, he needs to relax and take it easy. He doesn't need to rush back because it may hurt the team in the long run.
