Av's "Looking West" - Week 6
Two out of three picks last week - would have been 3 for 3 if my soon-to-be-benched fantasy team QB, Cam Newton, could have managed to run the ball in from the one yard line against the Hawks.
On to Week 6!
Predictions
Rams 24
Dolphins 16
I think the Rams will be able to force some turnovers this week and, with a short field to work with, will be able to get to the end zone with more frequency than in recent weeks. Don't discount Brian Schottenheimer's familiarity with the Dolphins' defensive personnel, as he game-planned for them twice a year with the Jets. Cameron Wake is the X-factor. The Rams need to account for him on every passing play to keep Sam's jersey clean.
Niners 27
Giants 24
I don't see another blowout for the recently dominant Niners, but the combination of the home field advantage and the revenge factor should carry them to another win. It will be interesting to see if the Giants' pass rush can get to Alex Smith and, if so, how that impacts the Niners' offense.
Bills 17
Cardinals 9
The Bills have had big troubles on defense, but the Cardinals can't run the ball or protect the passer. I think that 4-0 start is going to melt away very quickly. This is a "should win" game for Arizona, but I'm seeing an upset.
Patriots 26
Seahawks 17
The classic battle of unstoppable force (Patriots' offense) against the immovable object (Seahawks' defense). Right now, Brady, Welker and company are firing on all cylinders because the running game is working. That balance will overwhelm the Hawks, despite their 12th man advantage.
Projected Standings
San Francisco 5-1 (0-0)
St. Louis 4-2 (2-0)
Arizona 4-2 (1-1)
Seattle 3-3 (0-2)
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Av's "Looking West" - Week 6
San Francisco 27
New York 17
The Giants are looking more like the team that went 9-7 last year than the team that won the Superbowl. Eli Manning is playing very well, but the rest of the team is just not firing on all cylinders. The fact that San Francisco will be playing their second game in a row at home, and has been able to rest most of their starters in the 4th quarter of the last two games should help them, as well.
Arizona 17
Buffalo 14
Arizona will benefit from being at home and having extra rest (and they certainly needed it). As much as I think they will start to come back to the pack, in terms of record, the Bills really are a terrible team.
New England 27
Seattle 14
Seattle barely squeaked by in Carolina and did just about everything they could to make Russell Wilson look good. They play well at home, but their QB is will not have much success this week, and They should be back at .500. Expect a QB change either after their bye or after the Thursday Night game next week at San Francisco.
Miami 17
St. Louis 16
Traveling to the East coast is tricky, Miami is a much better team than expected this year, and losing Amendola will be tough to over-come. The extra rest will help the Rams, but pulling this one out on the road will be pretty tough.

Re: Av's "Looking West" - Week 6
This is a tough week to pick the winners in the NFCW.
I'd love to see the Giants take down the Whiners, but I think the Whiners are playing too well right now to lose this one. Whiners win,
Cardinals should rebound against a horrid Bills team.
Seattle will give Brady a test in Seattle but eventually fall to the Pats.
Rams? My heart says Rams win, but I'm not feeling this one right now. This game will say a lot about this team. Winning on the road would be huge, but it will be very difficult. I'm taking the Rams but I'm not laying any money on it. I just don't know how they're going to score points. I think if they DO win, it'll be from the defense and ST's.Last edited by RAMFANRAIDERHATER; -10-14-2012 at 12:36 PM.
