Got to admire the Niner's persistence with Smith.

I'd put Kolb over T-Jax IMO.

How many seconds into camp do you think it takes before the ***** to name Kaepernick the starter?

I think at this point he's run every single offensive system ever created... he's gotta start catching on SOMETIME...

No kidding, I almost feel sorry for the guy. Almost.

Kolb could be a very good quarterback... not great, but very good. Tarvaris Jackson and Alex Smith? Bring it on! Spags will scramble their brains.

Those stats are amazing considering Kolb threw for over 300 yards in his first two starts

Re: Av's Stat of the Day

This is very misleading because there are a couple of games that kolb played less than a full game.

If you take those games out of the equation. Kolb averaged way more than bradford close to 270yds a game

Perhaps, but isn't one of the measuring sticks for a QB the ability to win the starting job, start games, and finish them?

If you look at the 7 games he started, his passing yards are much better: 244.9. However, in those same 7 games, he threw 10 TD passes, 9 interceptions, and lost 3 fumbles. Those are not exactly world-beater type numbers.

Kolb's reputation was built over 3 or 4 very strong performances in an offense that was very QB-friendly. As I noted in another thread, though, Kolb's numbers were inferior to the other Eagles' QBs in that system:

    Kolb 88.9

    2010 Eagles Passer Ratings
    Vick 100.2
    Kolb 76.1
So, while Kolb is better than the 109.6 yards/game stat would suggest, he still has a lot to prove.
