The Barron Effect (a "glimmer of hope" stat)
Hey gang!
Still too busy to resume full time posting, but I thought I'd stop by and post a stat I looked up that gives us something to get our hopes up for the future:
The Barron Effect
In the 2 and 3/4 games when Tucker and Sapaia were starting at RT, the Rams had the following stats:
117 pass attempts
15 sacks
That's 1 sack for every 7.8 pass attempts!
Since Barron took over at RT:
118 pass attempts
5 sacks
That's 1 sack in every 23.6 pass attempts!
Now, this does nothing for the defensive house of horrors, but at least it would appear that the Rams have found someone who can really make a difference at RT.
Tonight will be a good test against the Colts pass rush. Maybe if Barron can continue to play well, he'll finally get some recognition.
Oh yeah, and a win would be nice too.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: The Barron Effect (a "glimmer of hope" stat)
I hate to say this but what would of should could of happen, if the FO got this kids signed in time to play in the opener. H eis going to be a good one for us, it looks like he already is.
Of the 5 sacks I would guess 2 or 3 where cover sacks.
The O line is going to get a lot younger it already has,now add Claude Terrell and Richie Incognito next year or later this year we might be able to run the ball with some new younger beef up front.

Re: The Barron Effect (a "glimmer of hope" stat)
Of the 5, none of them came from Barron's side. The only one even remotely connected to Barron (that I recall) was Strahan's stunt to the inside, and that should have been covered by either Timmerman or McCollum. The kid has been lights out so far.Of the 5 sacks I would guess 2 or 3 where cover sacks. We'll see Terrell tonight, but I believe Incognito has already been IR'd, so it'll be next year before he wears the horns.Richie Incognito next year or later this year"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Good to see you around Avenger and thanks for that Stat. Some people need to see the numbers to see that a change is coming.

I'm not so sure it was totally the FO fault Rambos, I do believe his agent had a something to do with it also.

I just hope with Terrel in there tonight the O line gets the job done. I've been impressed with Barrons play so far; hopefully he will continue to grow.

I think some credit needs to be given to the FO w/r to Barron thus far. They did try to fix the problem. And even though it is too early to tell, at least there is some promise.
Now, if they'd only get rid of Marmie.

Nice to see you posting again Av, thought you might have bought 2 bottles of Scottish whiskey !!!!
Nice stats, and tonight we're gonna see Terrells effect in the running game. I hope Fairchild goes to the back of Martz' playbook, and starts there. Throw some curves, but nothing tooooooo fancy. Let's put a stamp on the team, Vitt, Fairchild, and as Rammiegirl would say... aaarrrooooooooohh

Actually, could have fixed, cause 2/3's of the link was top and bottom framing graphics that we didn't need. But, no matter, it's all good.
