Bartell injured in Tuesday night practice
Rams corner goes down
August 3, 2010 10:20 PM ET
by Mike Florio
Another practice, another player ends up riding on a cart.
This time around it was Rams cornerback Ron Bartell, who suffered what Bill Coats of the St. Louis Post-Dispath describes as a "significant right ankle injury" in a Tuesday night practice.
Per Coats, Bartell limped to the sideline, and he was taken off on a cart.
A second-round pick in 2005, Bartell became a full-time starter in 2007.

Re: Bartell injured in Tuesday night practice
O please do not be injured for long, if so, I give up on life. Bartell is one of my favourite players.

I say don't rush him he is a vet wait until he is 100% last year he rushed back and it hurt the team. We need him on the field and the young guys could use some reps anyway.
The Physical young tandem of Murphy and Flethcer intrigues me. It would be nice to get those young guys extra reps.

Re: Bartell injured in Tuesday night practice
Here we go again!! I am (like everyone else) hoping it turns out to be a scare and he is back in a few weeks at least. I am so optimistic and really really hoping this is just a small bump in the road as i really expect our defense to make great strides in year 2 in this system.

Re: Bartell injured in Tuesday night practice
Hope it's nothing serious.
We've got til September for him to be healthy, so I guess that's one plus we can draw from this situation.

No, I don't play I just found that quite funny ahah, also if Bartell heals quickly this could be a good thing because our young guys get more reps Fletcher and Murphy.

Re: Bartell injured in Tuesday night practice
It's a violent game. Injuries happen. Most times it's not the best team that wins the Super Bowl, but the one with the most healthy players. If every team played their top 22 players every game, the league would have parity. But when one team is playing 22 of its top 30 players and another is playing 22 of its top 65 (after IR's and street agents), then it's easy to see how the healthier team rises to the top.
Hopefully, the Rams can stay healthy."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Bartell injured in Tuesday night practice
If Bartell is injured for part of the season, I would like to see Fletcher, Murphy, and Dockery as our top 3 corners.
