    Is Bartell really a number 1 corner..Nope

Bartell had a good year for a bad team. He was also beaten long a number of times. My concern is our paying #1 corner salary to a less than top notch corner.

I really think Bartell is at best a 5 mil player, paying him more than 7 mil per year is way too much. Remember for three years we couldn't decide if he was a corner or a safety. Now, he is a top notch corner...nope.

Sign bartell, but don't break the bank for him. If we are to pay top dollar go for McFadden.

He was the best CB in the division last year and likely has not peaked.

Bartell and the market disagree with you.

    Unless someone else will.

He's big and, until Atogwe emerged, there was some thought that he might be a good FS. I don't see that as a knock on him, though.

Now, he is a top notch corner...nope.
Yeah... he is. Can you imagine how he would play on a team with a good pass rush?

What makes McFadden better than Bartell? Bartell had better numbers accross the board last year.

This has been mentioned before and is a spot on point. If we can manage to keep him, he'll continue to develop and will no doubt flourish under Spags.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can make statements that ignore the reality of the numbers (ie lowest opposing qb percentage in nfc west) Peoplee watch a few plays or a few games and think that they know as much as professionals that watch film of every play all year

    What he said.

Will anyone ever forget Bartell running down the return man AND causing a fumble?

AND recovering it? (Not sure about this part, but hell, it makes the story even better)

I am feelin' very good today.

Oh yea, it's those types of plays that make a player "worth" 7M a year. Those types of play get lost in fold because he played on a poor team ...

If he played for the Patriots, you'd see that play replayed for years to come ....

I heard he ran the guy down, forced the fumble, recovered it, scored the touchdown and helped deliver a fans baby in the end zone!

Ya' know...replies like Av's are the reason I keep comin' around. A near-ascerbic, intelligent poet with a wicked-keen sense of humor and a limitless knowledge of Rams data. Av, will you be my Daddy?

#1 you can't see a Corner's value on TV, you have to be there in person.

#2 most people that go to the games dont know how to watch the corner.

While his skills don't compare to Nnamdi's, Bartell IS in the same league with CB's that are making $8-$10 Mill.

I don't want to pay any player that kind of of money, but the market price being paid by the other 31 teams determine what level of skill the team can afford.

The Rams re-signed Bartell for less than market price.

Who do you think is available for $5 Mill a year that is as good as Bartell?
