Basement fire sale
I don't ever remember getting to this time of the year in the past with so many highly talented players left in the Free Agent pool and teams having so little money to spend on players. If teams were smart they would start dumping some of the "big" money players and pick up some of these people that are interested in playing for a "resonable" price.
I can not believe some of the names still available. Come June 1st that list is only going to grow. Talk about sale prices on some of these guys. WOW!! Rams would be foolish to sign anyone til after the Draft and June 1st cuts.

One problem is that most of the quality free agents aren't asking for a reasonable price. Their ego is bigger than their talent.

EDM, even though I agree with you, don't you think that will change once they realize it's either play for what the teams are offering or sit next to Chris Carter in the studio? I agree. Wait, draft wisely, see what's needed and available after that...

Thank God for the salary cap. Although it can cause problems for teams, as we've seen recently, it keeps our players somewhat in check. It's not like the MLB where a player can make $20 million a year. Salaries like that would truly make the NFL the No Fun League.

either system you still have the problem of players leaving for more $$$....sucks, but the MLB NEEDS to get a cap ASAP

Some things that have helped the Rams, are since the Vermiel days they have draftd well, they basically STOLE MARSHALL from the colts, and thier quarterback was stocking shelves before he won the superbowl! Got a great deal in the k. carter trade, got #1, erased greens contract to vermiel, for a #1, erased lyght's salary, and DRAFT, DRAFT, DRAFT! All the younger players are making it possible to keep are superstars. They don't have alot of vets wanting the big bucks, and when they do, they've been fortunate enough to replace with equal or better in future talent. Most teams out there are not as fortunate. Once again KUDOS TO THE FRONT OFFICE!

You can only make so many guys happy before the money is gone. How do you pick and choose who gets the money and who has to play humble? I like the guys like Warner. Big money, yes, but he let them play with his contract to free up some big bucks. We need more big money makers to think like that. They shouldn't just be teammates on the field.

Imagine the chaos if the MLB got a salary cap. The players would all quit or go on strike for the 386th time.

MsWistRAM- my thoughts exactly.
