Re: And it begins: Rams will interview Fisher this week
Per Albert Breer
Did I mistake Demoff or did he quote Bill Polian at the beginning of his press conference as well? That's one reason why the former Tennessee Titans coach is expected to have the San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams at the top of his list, should those jobs become available. Beyond the presence of quarterbacks Philip Rivers in San Diego and Sam Bradford in St. Louis, Fisher has roots in Southern California and a relationship with Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff (whose father, Marvin, represents Fisher).
One source insisted that Indianapolis shouldn't be ruled out. Fisher has a strong relationship with Colts vice chairman Bill Polian, whom he served with on the league's competition committee. The possibility also exists that the Colts might have two franchise quarterbacks on their roster in 2012.
A Polian/Fisher combo would definitely get me excited.

Re: And it begins: Rams will interview Fisher this week
I heard him say that the Rams where not looking until today as the decision did not happen until this morning or late last night. They started to make calls today which included Marshal F. and D. Vermeil as consultants in the search.
I need help with the reference he made about the assistant coaches.. he singled out McD... i did not get what he was saying anyone catch that?Last edited by Rambos; -01-02-2012 at 06:17 PM.

Re: And it begins: Rams will interview Fisher this week
It may come to a point, where the Rams are forced into taking a chance, on a up and coming coach. But I have a feeling that Kroenke will go the experienced route, if given the choice. I don't really care too much who the next coach is. Just as long as he isn't in over his head. Mike Sherman has been a name mentioned, as a potential target for Kroenke.? He isnt a sexy pick, but could be a good fit for Bradford. I dont think it would go down very well though.?
Im just hoping that Stan will be able to hire his No.1 coaching target, when he makes his decision.
Fisher isnt sexy but I still like are chances with him, to at least build a good, solid foundation.?Last edited by GROUND DOG 39; -01-02-2012 at 06:58 PM.

Wish we got first crack at him. Dolphins will probably try to not let a coach of his stature leave without a contract.Fisher will interview with Dolphins within next 24-48 hours; Will meet with Rams later in the week.
Though Gruden is my 1st choice, I dont think hes going to return to the sidelines unfortunately; so Fisher is my 1st choice. Kinda a 1A 1B situation with Fish being 1B.

Re: And it begins: Rams will interview Fisher this week
Those not high on Fisher need to know he lasted 15 years in Tennessee for a reason. He did not have an owner who provided him with bottomless resources and he often got the absolute most out of his teams. His appearance (and team's performance) against a much better Rams squad in the Super Bowl should have had an impact on you all. His teams were competitive and tough and played with a chip-on-their-shoulder. He knows the game inside and out, serving time on both the competition and rules committees.
And Fisher brings a tenacity sorely needed in this organization. I've had eoungh talk of "growth" or "playing hard" or "appreciating the effort" after each loss. Fisher is as good a bet as any to succedd here where others have failed.

Well if we hire him, we can kiss the 4 pillars good-bye. Titans have a tendancy to bring in ANYONE who has talent

Re: And it begins: Rams will interview Fisher this week
I think we offer a better opportunity for Fisher than Miami... Bradford, big cap space, off-hands owner, weaker division.
But like most things, it'll most likely come down to $$$.
