Well, if a certain Bulger thread is any indication, the fact that this debate is now moot should not keep this thread from reaching 100+ posts.

    Re: Bell

Why do we need Bell? We have three DT that were 1st round picks and will start. We currently have David Thompson, Brian Howard, and Jeff Ruffin on the rostor. And don't forget that Tyoka Jackson can slide over to the DT posistion if neccessary. I just don't see why the Rams at this point would want to sign a under achieving DT. Then again it's JMO. Actually, "Ramman" always makes me think of Cup-o-noodles.

    Re: Bell

Gambling with other people's money Ferter? First, Seau may have turned out an injury liability ... but that risk would have been justified given that he brought more to the table than just "execution." He brought attitude and leadership ... he would have complemented A. Williams nicely. One could have argued that he "possibly" did not have much injury-free time left. Might even have suggested that he "probably" was injury suspect. But the Rams, I submit, still need some attitude up the middle. I don't regret last year's position and given that Trotter seemed more concerned about redemption according to your quote than with remuneration, I wish it hadn't become moot. Just another lost personnel opportunity by sMartz moves.

As to what the Rams can afford or not ,Tx I want to see the facts about your claim that we couldn't have afforded Trotter if he was available. You make a blanket claim as though you have a copy of the books. Well can the rest of us see it?

I think I'm glad about this. While the logic is that Marmie would want to bring in some of his own personnel, the fact that said personnel comes from the Cardinals makes me somewhat hesitant. Yes, there have been some good players to leave Arizona and be good elsewhere, but still... it's the Cardinals.

    Re: Bell

we couldnt afford him because that would have been too much money in the MLB position, and would have taken away from our ability to sign Pace to a long term contract.
