Bernie said Linehan has not been offered the job yet

Reports that Scott Linehan has been offered the job are premature.

I just spoke with Rams president John Shaw (6:20 p.m. STL time).

As I have been telling you for many days now, Linehan is the front runner, and he remains the front runner.

Repeat: Linehan is the front runner.

And he's told some friends around the league he's confident he'll get the Rams' gig ... however, Cameron has been doing the same thing, so take that with the proverbial grain of salt.

Linehan had a very good second interview Tuesday. He strengthened his bid. It is definitely his job to lose ... but I have felt that way since late last week.

But understand that Ron Rivera had an outstanding second interview today (Wednesday) with Shaw and Zygmunt, and he's made a race of it.

It's safe to say that Cam Cameron is third at this point, but in the game.

No question in my mind, though, that Linehan & Rivera are 1-2 as I type this.

    Next: clearance from ownership.

Wow, this is getting interesting!?!? Haven't seen any word on other websites, ESPN ticker, etc.
Personally, I'm still pulling for Rivera but guess will have to wait it out a little longer.....

I just watched the local news, and Cameron seems very optimistic, and there were reports that the Chargers front office is already looking for a possible replacement.

I'll take it with a grain of salt. Isn't Rivera scheduled to interview again tomorrow?

Who ever the choice is, I hope there is a solid DC to reintroduce RAM fans to the term,"DEFENSE"!:clanram:

What on Gods green earth does "clearance from ownership" mean in this context. Georgia the fossil, who didnt say a word throughout the entire martz debacle as the front office was battling internally and externally, is all of a sudden going to have input into this decision? Kroenke, sure they can talk to him. But georgia, what does she know about the criteria for selecting a leader at anything. 7 tries on a husband, what makes anyone think she will be any better at picking a coach.

Man, I just went over to Blarney's Litterbox and read some of his recent posts. The guy is losing it. You know he's sitting in his little office, praying the Rams don't hire Linehan so he can act like he wasn't majorly scooped by Clark Judge.

    LOL
