    Biggest question now

I would say going into week one without depth at the offensive tackle spot has me most worried. I can not see Goldberg there or any other player on our roster, they all have been turn styles this preseason. Looking through the list of free agents prior to any cuts the only name that pops out is Zach Weigert. He is really getting up there, I think he is 35.

Any other options? Losing Stuessie is huge!

Well, Todd Steussie is 37, so I don't think signing a 35 year old would be such a big deal. You're right, though. I wouldn't want to see any of our other potential backup OTs on the roster actually have to play.

    Re: Biggest question now

Adam Goldberg. Well, I don't know, he may be the answer as far as decent depth in place of Steussie.

Goldberg, as Steussie, can play G and T (I realize that some players can be the typical 'Jack of all trades, Master of none). But Adam seems to be, at worst, an average OL manning those two positions.

In addition to his few games at OT with us and with the Vikings, he played plenty of tackle also in college [okay, night and day difference from NFL]:

    • Started 44 of 45 games at Wyoming.
    • Honorable mention All-America and two-time first-team All-Mountain West Conference.
    • Started all 12 games as senior at left tackle.
    • Started 11 games at left tackle as junior, missing season opener due to illness...third junior in school history to be named team captain.
    • Started all 11 games at right tackle as sophomore, earning second-team All-Conference honors.
    • Started all 11 games at left tackle as freshman.

Coach Linehan apparently has faith in Goldberg too, he mentioned this after yesterday's injury to Steussie, as a possible replacement.

I heard, on 1380, that they project Brown to be a backup OG and RT, saying he doesn't have the mobility to do the LT thing, but would be servicable at RT and Barron can play LT if needed.

Man , I hope we don't have to start making another "patchwork" O line.

    Re: Biggest question now

This is a massive loss. Half the season is too long to be without adequate depth on the offensive line. But what other options do we have...can anyone think of any vets that may be just missing their respective team's 53 man roster?
