I went with Georgia's illness. While other issues have received more press, her status will have the biggest long-term impact on the team.

While I agree that in the long-term, nothing will have the impact of GF's illness, and the assumed imminent conclusion to that illness. However, I had to go with Carriker/Ryan; only because I was waving the Carriker flag a full month before he played the first game of his senior season at Nebraska.

I'm just right so rarely, I'm gonna have to celebrate this one.

It's the injuries. You could hardly describe the Rams' 2007 season without mentioning them.

Georgia's illness might turn into the biggest story of 2008, but right now all we can really do is speculate on how it may affect the running of the team.

I also went with this although it most likely will not impact the 2007 season.

Really? How's this for a turnaround? Just 2 votes for Linehan under fire?

I voted the former becuase ultimately, it is a culmination of what we've seen above; The injuries, the Holt blowup, Bennett flops, Bulger and Jackson- you name it.

It is how Linehan has responded to the incidents that have placed him under fire, and the story of the year has become bigger than injuries alone. The story of the year, IMO, is the way we've dealt with them and the scrutiny which they have placed on Linehan's job after a losing season.

It has to be the offensive line injuries. Watching those players go down, I had a gut feeling this season would be a flop.

I think Holt blowing up at Linehan. I would have said Linehan under fire, but I agree with him being under fire, and would say the most surprising is the fact that Linehan has undercoached so badly... it leaves me to wonder if Last year was looking so good simply becasue he was still using Martz's Off, system which was still technically in place.

Season ended with the O-line injuries

Biggest offseason story will probably be Georgia's death... and where they will go from there.

Torry Holt Blows Up At Linehan On Sideline In Nationally Televised Game

Torry wouldn't do that, unless there was something wrong with the coach.

Re: Biggest Rams Story Of 2007

The biggest negative impact has to be the injuries .. My vote for the biggest positive impact would go to the improvement in our run D provided in no small part by Carriker and Ryan. However the biggest overall impact would be a change of ownership (ala Stan Kroenke, my own preference). But as JK pointed out that would occur beyond 2007. What an impact that would be though WOW!!!

I agree injuries played a key role in our demised record, but the positives are all there. We are getting us a defense and with a #2 draft pick who knows what that will do for us in 08.' I hope this season will be forgotten next year. Go Giants and whoever plays the patsies!
