The "Blind Squirrel" Theory...and Other Mixed Metaphors

It seems to me that we have some posters operating on the "Blind Squirrel" premise in their bid to oust the Scott Linehan regieme.

    The Blind Squirrel Therory?

Even a Blind Squirrel occasionally finds a nut.

And by that, I mean that Scott Linehan is branded the epitome of a blind squirrel. And "occasionally finding a nut" the reasoning for our majority losing season, in that we just so happened to find two nuts in a row and knock ourselves out of the Darren Mcfadden Bowl.

But here's the thing. A Blind Squirrel has a family to feed. and sometimes, one or two nuts just isn't enough. Some may even claim it to be "The ugliest nut we've ever had". So what do you do when your Blind Squirrel is no longer sufficient? You boot him out. Out in the cold, where the poor blind thing could get hit by a car, or worse, starve. But in the NFL, you can't get by on just one nut. You have a family to feed.

    Here's my problem.

    Our squirrel isn't blind.

He's not been gouged, nor was blind from birth. The problem with our Squirrel? He's had his legs cut off. He's legless per se. And not the kind of legless you get from consuming too much nut concentrate in a short period of time. Our little squirrel has been hacked to the bone, crippled wounded and maimed.

It's not that he can't see the nut. And I can assure you that if fully healthy, there would be nuts aplenty due to his arsenal of arms, legs and those beady little eyes. The Scott Linehan Squirrel has expierienced too many injuries to climb the tree and secure the nut. The poor little bugger can't even protect his memebers...that play behind the offensive line.

The point being, you can't climb a tree when you're a squirrel with no legs and useless vestigal features. It's not that you can't see the pinacle, there's just no way to reach it.

And you can't win with this many injuries.

And it seems that every good post around here seems to need to be connected to some sort of acronym, so prepare yourselves...

    S. O. S. (Save Our Squirrel.)

    funny post Bar-bq.....

Do we have any proof that Scott Linehan knows what a good nut looks like, and does he possess the intelligence to get the nuts and bring them home? So far he seems to be dropping them in the sprint on the way back to his nest. So many lost nuts. It is not looking good for Scotty Squirrel.

A couple of bounces here or there combined with untimely injuries and better ball security would have produced more "NUTS" for the Linehan.

We could have 5 or 6 nuts.

Linehan never made it across the street.

His tail is still whippin', but it only the wind moving it.
