Which player on the Rams roster (other than Sam Bradford) do you see breaking out and possibly becoming a star in the next year or two?
I went with Illinois Mike. I think he has the tools to become an upper-tier TE, and I expect that Josh McDaniels will find very good uses for his skills.
My second choice was George Selvie. If he can bulk up a bit without losing his speed and quickness, I think he can be an extremely effective pass rusher.
My expectation is that Danario Alexander will get the most votes. That's understandable, as he had flashes of greatness (before his horrible game in Seattle) this year. I couldn't bring myself to vote for him given his knees. He's just too much of a longshot to be a guy who can play 16 games as a starter.
I went with Fendi, he was drafted on the basis on his untapped potential. The guy is one of the most athletically gifted guys on the roster and if the Rams that harness that talent then I think he could be one of the top TEs in the league.
I'm not sure if he is untapped or not, but I went with Bradley Fletcher. I have a really good feeling about him this year.
I voted for DX because for him its not really a matter of adding skills, learning to _____, getting faster.. its just staying healthy. Which in the end may be harder than adding skills, but talent wise, I think we might see that potential tapped next year in McDaniel's system. But I agree that he really is a long shot to play 16 games. If you could give him a magic health pill though, I think he'd could be one of the best receivers (statistically) in the league next year.
A lot of good choices there. Hard to not be excited.
I'll go with Selvie. For those watching, he showed a great motor and nose for the ball. Once he gets comfortable with the assignments and reading an NFL offense, he could be a monster RE.
I also went with Fletcher.
I went with Jason Smith. He has great potential, excellent athelticism and could be an incredible run blocker for years.
I didn't list Fletcher because I think he's already a very solid NFL CB. He finished the year with 75 tackles, 11 passes defended and 4 interceptions.
Can he get to the next (Pro Bowl) level? I won't say he can't.
What a great question to be on the fence about!
I voted "cliche" and went with DX.
He can become the type of WR we all dream about.
Fendi and Oh Oh have the potential to form the best TE corp in the league, and I love George Selvie and Jerome Murphy's potential under Spags.
In a few years we could look back on last years draft and realize that Sam was not the only player we drafted that lead to our dynasty.
i`ll have to think about this and come back to it..i think virtually all of our young players have the potential to become among the best at their position.
i love the work our GM and his underlings have done in the draft since taking over. they have only really just begun in their work, but already it`s impressive what they have achieved.
It was a toss up between M.H............, and Selvie. Barring injuries it has to be Mike H. The offense was noticably worse when he didnt play. If Selvie can get a little bigger this offseason without losing his quickness, hes one to watch.
Illinois Mike, Onobun, and Selvie were all tempting choices. However, I had to go with Danario. I don't like being the cliche answer, but his athletic ability is phenomenal. He's big, fast, gets good YAC, and is a very determined player. I don't believe his hands are an issue, despite that pitiful game in Seattle. As for his injuries, that's just something he'll have to deal with. He's a scary prospect with his knee, but an incredible player.
On a side note, I almost hit "Other" and voted for Chris Long. I'm thinking he has even more untapped potential than we saw this year.
I went with DX.....predictable right?
I voted "someone else"...Rodger Saffold. I think this guy can become an elite, shut-down left tackle for years to come. Rather amazing that teams regularly take left tackles in the top 5 of the draft and we got this guy in the 2nd round.
At any rate he has the talent and most importantly the demeanor and work ethic to just get better and better.
Maybe he can even get to the level of OP some day (nope..not gonna put his name with Saffold just yet!)
WHAT SAY YE?
