Bradford Injury Proves that RGIII Trade Was a Mistake

Two years, ago, the Rams had a choice.

One path involved staying with Sam Bradford and cashing in the No. 2 pick in the draft for a boatload of draft picks offered by the Washington Redskins.

The other path involved taking Robert Griffin, III, a dynamic young QB and, perhaps, trading Bradford, if a team offered to take on his massive (pre-rookie scale) contract.

For a while, it looked like the first path, which the Rams selected, resulted in a win-win for both franchises. The Redskins obtained a franchise QB, while the Rams continued to develop Bradford while building up the roster with the likes of Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, Stedman Bailey and Zac Stacy (plus one more first round pick to come).

Then, yesterday came and the whole analysis changed.

Bradford's season ended, and his future became cloudy, as a result of a torn ACL.

This never would have happend if the Rams had not made the trade and had, instead, taken RGIII.

RGIII's greatest asset is his mobility and elusiveness. This skill not only puts pressure on defenses, it also keeps RGIII safe. A QB like him can avoid the type of hits that cause injuries like the one Bradford suffered. That's why RGIII made it through last year's regular season and the first third of this year's without a major injury.

In today's NFL, where injuries are nearly inevitable, you need a guy who can out-run hits and remain durable.

    A guy like RGIII.

    And there it is.

Your joking. Please tell me your joking.
I seem to remember him messing up his ACL as well. One that kept him out even through training camp.

And this is why we need to sign Tebow. The hand of God keeps his ACL safe.

Yes, he is joking. We need a special font for scarcasm.

It is has been proven historically that using special font for sarcasm reduces its effect by 30%...anyway, I think Bernie is spot on here.

Sarcasm is always so much easier to catch verbally. I feel slightly dumb.

He'd probably still be better than the QBs I've seen listed as possible place-holders.....
