okay, okay now this is just wrong.... Let's be a little more sympathetic. I would take 1 million to fight Tyson, but 50 mill to QB for the Rams???

Not that I'm superstitious, but I think we're putting some bad mojo out there with all this nickname talk. The kid's played two quarters of NFL (preseason) football and got the snot knocked out of him. Let's just stick with the name his parents gave him until he does something.........or not even then.

Give me the universally accepted nickname for:

    Peyton Manning
    Brett Favre
    Dan Marino
    Kurt Warner
    John Elway

yea, I couldn't think of any either.

Peyton Manning - 5 Head (more than a forehead)
    Brett Favre - Waffle
    Dan Marino - Laces Out!!
    Kurt Warner - Stock boy
    John Elway - Mr. Ed

    Too easy!

    Good try, Joe.

Again, as I said, universally accepted nicknames. (though I admit, Ace Ventura was a funny movie.)

In all seriousness and as I said before, nicknames just happen, we can't create them. But it has been good for passing the time until the season "really" starts...

Although I agree that this is a silly conversation that has turned prematurely cynical, I feel compelled to report that the commentators on the broadcast used by NFL Rewind mentioned that some of the Rams players are calling Sam "Fiddy" as in "fiddy million".

I'm here to sweeten that mojo by saying I hope Sam earns that not for his paycheck but by matching Warner's mark of 50 TDs in a season; Kurt did it ,of course, in '99 with 41 passes and a rushing score in the regular season and 8 in the post season.

I'm all for it........especially the "8 in the post season" part.
