Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
Rams had their chances at Brady Quinn in the draft, but blindly passed and now witnessing what might have been. Quinn with the Rams would have, right about now, taken over the reigns at QB over a struggling Marc Bulger, no doubt after strong demands from The ED fans.
After last nights showing against the Denver Broncos, Brady's coming out party was no less than spectacular!
Rams fans are left to wonder about the One that got away.
Welcome to the NFL, Brady Quinn!

The Rams also passed on Tom Brady. Of course, so did every other team in the league.
I wouldn't presume that Brady Quinn is a future Pro Bowl player based on one game against one of the worst defenses in the league.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Look at it this way - if we had taken Quinn instead of Carriker in '07, we would have probably taken Dorsey over Long last year. And Dorsey's done nothing except get blown up at the line of scrimmage all year.

Re: Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
Yes, we should have drafted Quinn to hold a clipboard instead of our starting DT Adam Carriker. Huh?
But let's say Quinn is playing now in place of Bulger. We would get to watch our 1st round pick sacked to the tune 11.2% of the time. I don't mean to speak for Quinn, but I bet he is happier behind a Browns line that keeps him upright all but 3.9% of the time."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
I saw a list the other day that seems pretty pertinent at this point. I'll share it.
STUPIDEST IDEAS EVER!!!
1. Sitting on a biker's Harley, just to see how it feels
2. Telling a cop that "I pay your salary, pig!"
3. French kissing a cobra
4. French kissing a biker
5. French kissing a biker named Cobra
6. Ordering a bottle of Manischewitz at the LALALALALALAH Cafe in downtown Tehran
and the stupidest of them all.....
7. Thinking a first round QB will do anything but get the s**t kicked out of them behind the Rams offensive line!Last edited by Roy G. Biv; -12-09-2008 at 12:03 PM.

The same argument will be made this year. Until we fix the line, the top QB in the league will get torn apart.

Re: Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
Quinn looked pretty good. He was accurate, mobile and able to improvise, but it was still one game agianst a team that has not been world beaters so far this year. In the end, he and the Browns could not seal the deal. Maybe he will become "the one that got away", but I wouldn't annoint him the next great QB just yet.

Brady Quinn? What about Jay Cutler? He was the man last night! No running game, no defense and he still found a way to get the "W". He had over 400 yards passing!!!! (TYE HILL)

Re: Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
Oh sure, with Bulger coming off his best season as a pro, it would be wise to dump him and bring in Quinn. Are you okay? No one knew that Bulger would go under this type of transformation in a two year span, we had a Top 8 QB at the time of that draft but we would still draft Brady Quinn when QB was one of the last of our needs? Sure.
You could only make the case for Cutler, because we were in the spot he was selected at, and Bulger was injured in 2005 and didn't look particularly good when he was playing. But Quinn? A big resounding "NO" from me.

Re: Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
Hmm. So let's draft Sam Bradford or Matt Stafford next year. They look pretty good. Maybe they can play with a terrible o-line in front of them...
QB is not the problem we have. If we brought Quinn into St.Louis, he would probably be in the emergency room at the end of the season. He would get banged up.
So let's say we trade Bulger for Quinn. Now we get to watch Quinn get crushed by Kris Jenkins, while Bulger will have an astounding day behind the Browns steady o-line. Then everyone will cry about Quinn not throwing the ball away.

Re: Brady Quinn / The One that got away...
THis is such a classic post from our most noted bulger basher who fails to refute arguments based on logic and prefers to respond with terms like sux and loser.
One game and the game is a superstar. I sure wish the rams had edwards and the browns offensive line by the way.
At the time, almost no one had a problem with passing cutler, who almost all of us loved, for hill and wroten. I am not going to second guess with 20-20 hindsight after the fact.
WE had bulger. Defensive line was by far the biggest need we had. We took carriker, who has been a fine pick. Saying we should have taken quinn makes no sense at all and wouldnt solve a thing on this team.

What is this, the 1,000,000,000th thread where we can all argue about if Marc sucks or doesn't? For goodness sakes people, let it go. The fact is that one man does not a team make.
