Re: Brandon Lloyd is a RAM
That's very good news. Now, the Rams don't have to re-sign him to make the deal worthwhile. Of course, assuming he stays healthy and produces, I hope the Rams do keep him, but the pressure is now off.
Give Devaney credit where its due. If nothing else, this shows the team that the Front Office has not thrown in the towel.

Re: Brandon Lloyd is a RAM
With him I think the Rams are fine, now defenses won't be able to focus on DX, you throw Gibson into the slot, not to mention Clayton is on his way back next week. This made my day and this move could potentially save the season. yes the Rams are 0-5 but and this is a big BUT they've made it past the rough part of the first half of the season.
Consider the fact that most of the season is a failure due to a little bit of everything, injuries, lock-out, lack of depth, and poor coaching. There's a lot of blame to throw around but I wouldn't throw the season out just yet. This is coming from someone who has been pretty harsh on this team. This trade if it happens changes a lot of things. The Rams lost yesterday because of there lack of scoring ability. Steven Jackson ran 96 yards with the defense keying in on him, you add a passing game and the offense can stay on the field longer, thus keeping the opponents team of the field. The game was a lot closer than it looked. Missed field goal, missed touchdown, interception thrown. that game could have easily been 17-13 going into the 4th, B Lloyd could have been the difference in the game. Also consider this that the Rams scrub of a defense held the Packers the their lowest point total so far this year, on the Packers field, I'm just saying.
This one trade could have a Gasol like impact. I wouldn't rule it out. You have to consider that with a player like Lloyd Defenses' have to pay attention to him, now you throw DX in the mix, and Clayton coming off IR, that right there gives you a formidable WR line up. With that you begin to line SJ in the slot, wideout, passing out of the back field, you can then begin to use him to his full strengths. SJ is still a 100 yards a game back with a decent WR lineup.
This one trade I believe energizes the locker room puts trust from the players back into the coaches and front office that they're not throwing away the season, this one trade does a many things. If this trade goes down, mark my words the Rams make the playoffs.
******The Trade is Official, This Trade just save the Rams Season.********

It is all about the system, my friend, all about the system, You're sounding kinda like a homer, he had 1400 yards on a sorry team.

Re: Brandon Lloyd is a RAM
Here's how I see it:
PROs
Gives Rams a legitimate No. 1 target for the rest of the year.
Compensation was negligible for a player of Lloyd's talent.
Combined with return of Mark Clayton, takes pressure off young WRs.
Shows the Rams that the Front Office is still trying to win this year.
Keeps Lloyd away from San Francisco (Niners reportedly had some interest).
Lloyd's transition should be nearly seamless given his familiarity with McDaniels' system.
If he is retained, removes need for Rams to take two WRs in next year's draft.
CONs
Still must be re-signed, and could be overpriced (though the trade market might indicate otherwise).
Is 30 years old.
Has a little bit of a "diva" rep.
Would be a negative if his presence caused Rams to pass on top WR in next year's draft.
Would be

Re: Brandon Lloyd is a RAM
i dont understand all the negativity. the guy was a pro bowler last year in this system. Sure hes 30, and has only had 1 year of solid production, but how many receivers have we got who we KNOW can produce? Either ours are injured or rookies, or average i.e Gibson....
You talk about wanting to win yet whenever the FO does something to try to win you critcise, i dont get it.....

Re: Brandon Lloyd is a RAM
Hey, Spags is coaching the rest of the year for his future....The move had to be done....a 6th Round pick is nothing....
The only thing that seems to bother everyone (Rams Fans) is that the must not deter our vision of getting a top talent in Round 1 of the draft in the WR position.
Even though I am not sold on Salas, he should play the slot over Gibson....Gibson is just WR depth at this point. You can't keep Amendola and Salas both on next years' roster...especially if they change the KickOff rules back....

Its a 6th round pick for now. If Lloyd gets 30 + receptions it will be a 5th.
Like I said, go get him. GREAT JOB BOYS!!
