Brandon Manamulena
No one has mentioned Brandon dropping the pass over the middle against the Lions. Madden thought he short armed the attempt at catching the pass.
That play would have been beautiful. I've seen Marshall catch the pass on a play very similar to that one.
Is Brandon the answer at TE ???

Re: Brandon Manamulena
Yes. But only because the question is "who is the person who will fill the extremely limited role of playing TE in the Rams' offense?"
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Brandon Manamulena
Actually, Manu's whiff has been brought up - his effort was apathetic at best.
Is Manu the answer?? Hmmm.. What was the question again? He has good hands normally - and can get in the way of defenders. He lacks a mean streak - imho.
I think maybe Martzie showed his hand when he brought back Williams to give Manu some competition.
As AV said, the role is limited, which makes catces even more important to him and the team.

Ya that was a beautiful play... If had been caught. I would rather see Roland Williams at TE if he is healty. Manu is good but makes some errors. But he could me the answer but definetly not a Ernie Conwell:sad:

Re: Brandon Manamulena
I paid five bucks for one of those NFL (preview) Magazines that are so popular at this time of year..
They rated Manu as the 29th best Tight End in the NFL. I think he had a fraction less than one catch a game.. For all his playing time, he didn't do much.
He was also on the NFL Most Overpaid list.

He had a nice catch in a game last year. Dang can't remember it but he cought it inbetween 3 defenders.

Re: Brandon Manamulena
The main goal of a TE in Martz's offensive scheme is to block. Manu's gotten a lot better at that.
Either way, Big Ro' is actually the starter as far as I know. Either way we're essentially getting the same player. The Rams will never really have a playmaker TE like Gonzo or Gates.

We Have Downgraded Since The Loss Of Conwell, but Williams(i Think) Is A Better Fit Than Manu.

I wouldn'r be surprised to see Hedgecock get some playing time this season at TE.

ANYONE BUT ROLAND WILLIAMS... he's got stone hands. I actually was relatively happy with how Manu had played until that drop. He's not asked to do much so when he's called on he needs to perform. For now, I'm happy with him, but I would expect him to get tested.
