    Brian Quick Video Highlights

Looks like this guy can do a lot of different things. If what he's shown in the video translates to the NFL, we've got something.

I like what i see. He seems more fluid then Randle or Jeffery and not stiff for being such a big guy.

Looks like a great receiver, I hope that when Holt and Bruce announced the pick, they rubbed off some of their greatness on quick.

    Re: Brian Quick Video Highlights

It's a highlight tape, so it's going to include the best of his work. But some things I see in the video that are encouraging for the pro level...

-Very athletic, smooth for a 6'4" receiver
    -Big catch radius
-Used on a variety of routes at all levels of the field
-Good concentration to make the tough catch
    -Good awareness of sideline
-Great YAC potential for his size
    -Physical, breaks/sheds tackles

You'd like to see some better separation from defenders considering the level of competition. On a number of those receptions, it looks like he had some guys in his back pocket and just outjumped/outfought them for the ball. A player as athletic and fluid as Quick though should be able, with practice and time, to improve on his route running quickness and explosiveness so that he can gain that separation though his routes as well.

Thanks for posting the video, Mike! I really didn't get the chance to see much of Quick, and I imagine I'm not alone in that statement, so that was a nice find!

I was hoping for a WR a little more pro ready than Quick, but the talent is there for all to see.? Quick seems pretty elusive for such a big target. Its going to be very interesting to see what a REAL coach like Fisher, can do with this talent at his disposal. Remember this is a new regime, so player comparisons
from previous years are completely irrelevant. Keep up the good work Fishead.

    Re: Brian Quick Video Highlights

Mike, thanks for the video....He does look to be quite athletic but I would think that his learning curve in NFL and therefore any huge contributions to the team could be a bit more then a Div 1 guy. His ability to create space seemed to not be as prevalent as I hoped (as Nick pointed out too) and I am fairly certain that the boys in the NFL are just a bit faster on D. I look forward to his progression and production over time.

    Re: Brian Quick Video Highlights

This pick scares me just because of the fact he really didnt face any real competition. This is a huge step up and even in his highlight video there isnt a lot of seperation between him and the corners facing him. I hope this one pans out because we really need a wr and could have selected him and Randle in the second round.

Pretty much what I took from the video as well Nick. I would add that he showed some nifty moves to avoid tackles, including an absolute ankle breaker that was impressive.

He's obviously somewhat of a project, but looks to have a lot of upside and potential. One of those former basketball players with great reflexes and the ability to use his body to help make catches.

I know it's easy to look for positives with a new draft pick, but I really like what I see so far.

Agreed, I would add good body control, and great balance to your list.

Let's hope he translates as a pro.
