The St. Louis Rams have announced the NFL has suspended CB Fakhir Brown without pay for the first four games of this season for violating the league's Substance Abuse policy. Brown will be allowed to participate in the Rams' training camp and preseason games but his suspension will begin Aug. 31.

Yowza. I wonder if this means Lenny Walls will fill Brown's spot in the starting line-up, since the coaching staff seemed to think Walls looked sharp when filling in for Tye Hill.

What a bummer! I particularly liked Fakir and felt he was a solid addition to the team. He also seemed like a really good guy and was one of the few players who took the time to make sure all the kids who wanted his autograph were not disappointed. He signed for everyone on his way out of the dome last year after the opening game against Denver. (last year's bash).

Who will fill his shoes now? Ron Bartell? One thing about the NFL, one guy's misfortune is another guy's opportunity ...

Just saw that. This could really open the door up for Bartell or even Wade to get in there. Hopefully this pushes the other CBs, becase now they know somebody is guaranteed to start 4 games.

Because they've been fed that they can do whatever they want when they want and no consequences will happen to them.

Brown better be careful...word has it there are couple of kids waiting for an opportunity like this. I have heard Walls has had a hell of a good camp as well as Bartell. Others believe Wade will be pushing for that nickelback slot, Brown might just be looking up hill more ways than one. Especially given the coach's track record with other screw up players.

Don't get caught up in Walls at all. He's bad. Complete waste in KC last season.

Man this is disappointing. Of all the dumb things to do. I'll just never understand why players try to gamble with the drug testing they know is coming.

Well. I dunno. I liked what I saw of Bartell toward the end last year, so there's that.

But then, the Rams were apparently talking about how well Walls stepped up after Hill went down with the staph thing. So, that's an ominous sign. Maybe they are going to keep Bartell at nickel and start Walls till Brown returns.

But even if they do start Bartell, who is the nickel?
