Bruce Trivia
You all know Bruce went to Memphis State. How many people know a few other facts (WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP)? (Answers posted on 6-9-04).
1) In Bruce's senior season, in 1993,he broke school records in catchs, yards and TD's. What were those numbers??
2) What number did he wear in college?
3) What is Memphis States mascot?

Re: Bruce Trivia
I'll take the easy one. MSU (or UofM, depending on when you went there)'s mascot is the Tigers.
"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Bruce Trivia
Does Keith Lee still play for memphis state?
What I would love to know is which receivers were taken before Reverend Ike in that draft. Since it wasnt jerry rice, I think several other teams blew it!
Who was his college qb?
Its going to be a great, great year for isaac bruce, as bulger removes that eyepatch that prevented him from looking over to that side of the field.

Re: Bruce Trivia
Interesting stats ferter. I think part of what explains it is a LOT less catches for faulk and the fact that bruce is no longer the #1 downfield option with constant double coverage as he was under warner. To me, the bottom line on bruce is that no #2 corner in the league is going to cover him one on one. Holt now gets the double coverage and that is what creates even greater opportunities for bruce. This will be especially true if the league actually enforces the rules regarding downfield grabbing as they say they are going to do. I believe that the baltimore game last year was the first game that holt was singled out by the opponent as the #1 guy, as they put mcallister on him. I think it is probably more important this year that bulger does a better job of checking off to faulk as he did in the carolina game and finding faulk down the field than it is that he look over at bruce. To me, Faulk is still capable of opening up the offense for everyone else when used effectively and he is open over and over in the flat. Once the ball is in faulks hands in the open field, great things tend to happen for the squad.

Re: Bruce Trivia
I agree about your points on Faulk GC. Looking for Faulk and getting him the ball is an area of Bulger's game that needs improvement. The point of the stats was to show that Bulger is not concentrating solely on Holt. However, I do think that Bulger needs to improve his field vision. Also, the Rams offense used to be very effective with Faulk on screen plays. Those screen plays seem to have all but disappeared. I am not sure if defenses around the league are generally doing a better job against the screen passes or if this is just a lack of execution and commitment to the screen on the Rams part.
