    Bulger canít predict his return

    By Jim Thomas
    ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
    Monday, Dec. 10 2007

CINCINNATI ē Rams quarterback Marc Bulger isnít ready to call it a season. But
heís not sure when he might return to the lineup after missing his second game
in a row because of lingering effects of a concussion on Nov. 25.

ďItís tough, because you want to tell your guys or tell your coaches, ĎOK,
yeah, Iím back next week,í Ē Bulger said. ďBut you donít know how youíre going
to feel the next day. So if I can get through Monday, Tuesday, and get going
again, then I hope this will be the week.Ē

But there are no guarantees on when ó or even if ó Bulger will return in 2007.

ďItís indefinite,Ē coach Scott Linehan said, following a 19-10 loss to
Cincinnati that featured Brock Berlin at quarterback. ďIím making no
predictions. Iím just going to think positive and hope for the best, and make
arrangements in case he canít be available. Itís not anything that you can put
    a date on.Ē

Bulger watched again from the sideline in sweats, as he did last week against
Atlanta. Bulger said he felt about the same Sunday as he did last week, when he
told Linehan that he just didnít feel right following Thursdayís practice.

When quizzed on the topic Sunday, Bulger found it hard to describe what not
    ďfeeling rightĒ felt like.

ďI talked to guys that have had (concussions),Ē Bulger said. ďI talked to Kurt
(Warner) actually on Friday morning, just to get a better insight because heís
been through it. Itís one of those things where itís real tough to describe how
    youíre feeling.

ďEspecially after talking to Kurt. He described to me exactly the way I feel.
And itís the first time I heard that ó he hit the nail on the head with me, and
said he still has some small issues because he thinks he came back too soon a
couple times. Thatís not good to hear.Ē

In 2000, Warner left the Ramsí regular-season finale in New Orleans because of
a concussion, and then played six days later in a wild-card contest against the
Saints. Bulger took his regular turn in practice last Wednesday and Thursday
and said he felt good throwing the ball.

ďThatís the tough part because you can practice and you can throw the ball
well, but you just know somethingís a little bit off,Ē Bulger said. ďAnd if
somethingís off, then thatís not normal.Ē

    Injury update

The Rams came out of a game with a relatively light injury report. Defensive
end Victor Adeyanju suffered a hip pointer, and free safety Oshiomogho "O.J."
Atogwe had a mild groin strain. Neither injury is thought to be serious.

The Rams' coaching staff wasn't so fortunate. Defensive backs coach Willy
Robinson slipped in the entrance way to the visitors' locker room and suffered
what Linehan said was a "badly torn" quadriceps muscle.

"I guess that kind of goes along with the season," Linehan said with a shrug.
"If something like that's going to happen, it'll probably happen this year, so
    let's get it over with."

Although he didn't see it, Linehan was told that Robinson had slipped. "I saw
him on the ground with a bunch of people around him," Linehan said.

Robinson works the game in the coaches' box and was a little late getting to
his perch at Paul Brown Stadium in the third quarter because of the injury.

    Sitting it out

Besides Bulger, the rest of the Rams' inactives Sunday were: WR Brandon
Williams (ankle); CB Eric Bassey (knee); OT Rob Petitti (concussion); DE Trevor
Johnson; C Nick Leckey; and OT Mark LeVoir. Gus Frerotte (shoulder) was the No.
    3 ó or emergency ó quarterback.

Cincinnati's inactives included Pro Bowl RT Willie Anderson (knee) and starting
    FS Madieu Williams (thigh).

it's obvious that Bulger doesn't wan't to come back this season because he would be playing for nothing and he don't wan't his injury to get any worst that may lead to a cronicle injury next season

IMO, Bulger wants to play as soon as he can get out there. If he was only looking out for himself, he wouldn't have played with broken ribs earlier this year. I think he realizes the seriousness of a concussion, and he won't rush himself back from one, but I do think he wants to play as soon as he's healthy.

Bulger's a gamer, and has proven that he wants to play by being out there with broken ribs, and a concussion(for two series after he got it!). Put him on IR for the good of his future health!

I respectfully disagree. Bulger is the leader of our "team".
