Bulger most consistent QB in NFL
This is from a site out of Boston that offers unique statistical analysis of the NFL. It says that Marc Bulger was the most consistent QB in football in 2004.

Re: Bulger most consistent QB in NFL
The scary thing is that the kid clearly has not reached his peak yet. His rate of improvement last year (especially his capacity to find alternative targets down the field) was terrific. Just think how much better he will be when The Big B, Alex Barron, gets up to speed at the right tackle spot. Sitting in the pocket, bulger is deadly accurate and that accuracy, combined with the plethora of wicked weapons at his disposal, is going to make him a championship qb, hopefully this year.
ramming speed to all

Re: Bulger most consistent QB in NFL
Interesting...but with Payton Manning, you get a deviation from his average rating that still puts him around 100, so that needs to be factored in. This formula would say that if you had 8 perfect ratings (156?), and 8 ratings of 100, that your deviation is way high at 56.
Anyway, it does say one thing that I have always felt about Bulger.....wysiwyg. He's been consistent.

Re: Bulger most consistent QB in NFL
Bulger didn't need Turley to shut everybody up last year, proving his worth on the field. Like the article said, he was rarely spectacular but almost always pretty darn good, and he's hitting his prime at age 28 (unless you see that as 32 in Martz years). Tom Brady is obviously agreeable at #2, but Aaron Brooks in the third spot? Stop right there and trash the list.
baconboy... coy bacon... confusing.

Re: Bulger most consistent QB in NFL
You must not have read the whole story... being at the top of the list doesn't make you better. Just more consistent. Of course, some players are consistently bad. Brooks would be among them. The story breaks this all down at the end.

Re: Bulger most consistent QB in NFL
This is a neat article. Thanks for posting it bacon. Quick thoughts:
1. It must suck being a Vick fan...not knowing who will show up, the pro-bowler or the toilet-bowler.
2. We're awful lucky to have Bulger.
3. Brady is awful lucky to have New England.
4. Manning is awful good."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod
