Bulger needs to be Da Man
Maybe or hopefully Marc Bulger can put it all together this year. A successful QB must have a handle on all situations.
The past few seasons has seen Bulger regress as far as putting up the numbers, staying healthy or getting W's. The early part of Marc's career saw him as a hotshot QB, taking over for Kurt Warner, running the Mike Martz offense, just missing the Super Bowl a couple times. Basically Bulgers game has become stale. Maybe Marc has failed to grasp the Linehan Playbook.
What ever the reason, NOW! is the time for Marc Bulger to show his leadership skills as Quarterback for the Saint Louis Rams.
To put it simply, Bulger needs to be 'Da Man'
Da Man gets the W's...all else are losers!

Bulger will step up and have a great season. In other words, he will be "Da Man" and take us back to 12-4.

Re: Bulger needs to be Da Man
Bulger is 31 now and should be at the peak of his powers. If the O-Line can give him adequate protection, I'm sure that he can have a good season. Unlike some others on this forum, I'm not convinced that he has the ability to be a great quarterback but he is certainly good enough to lead this team to the playoffs if everything else falls into place.

Re: Bulger needs to be Da Man
Put Tom Brady behind the line we had. He would get beat up, constantly put pressure on and wouldn't compete at a top notch level.
Bulger is a great quarter back. We all know that. We just need to give him the right tools.

At the risk of once again repeating myself I have to say this. You dont have to have a great qb to win Superbowls because great qb's cant win the Superbowl by themselves. If great qb's were all it took Marino would have 7 rings from when he played. Bulger cant be "Da Man" if "Da Line" is getting him killed. Bulger cant be "Da Man" If Da Defense" is on the field more than "Da Offense". Bulger cant be "Da Man" if "Da Special Teams" puts him in poor field positions time in and time out. Bulger cant be "Da Man" If "Da Coach" admits he cant do the he was hired to do. Bulger can be "Da Man" if all the pieces to the puzzle come together. It's a team game and I'd rather see "Da Team" finally play like one this year. If all "Da Parts" dont come together then we will once again be in "Da Top Five" in next years draft.

Botton line.....BULGER is DA MAN. Who else do we have to turn to?
The trenches hold the keys to our success.

Until our team decides to put more emphasis on the OL than concussion specialists, we will continue to see our QB's get worked....

I agree, you are becoming a broken record! Of course Bulger can't do it all by himself and he hasn't had the greatest support from the front line "Da Line" as of late, But being the "Da Man" requires your QB to be on top of all situations, overcoming your short comings, commanding the respect of your teammates, Being more of a leader, basically this is the year to see if the Rams will have to go in another direction as far as the Quarterback position is concern. Maybe Trent Green will be Marc Bulger's good luck charm. The last time Trent was on the Rams Bench, the Rams starting QB took us all the way to the Promise Land!
Everyone has to do their part on this team, for sure, Da Coach, Da O, Da D, Da ST, but it must all start with Bulger taking the lead and being the "Da Man".

Re: Bulger needs to be Da Man
"just missing the Super Bowl a couple times." -???????????
I just want to know what league Bulger just missed the Super Bowl a couple times. It was not the NFL.
While I am no fan of Bulger's, our team depends on it's line play(like ALL teams). Brady didn't look too good against teams who put him on his ass and heels either. Bulger just needs to play to win and stop "playing not to lose". But no matter what mindset Bulger takes in to a game, if his line doesn't do it's job......it's over.

Didn't Bulger QB against the Panthers in the NFC championship, also against the Falcons in a divisional playoff, I'll say thats pretty close to a Superbowl.

Re: Bulger needs to be Da Man
Bulger has never reached a NFC championship game. And that is the only game I would classify as "getting close to a Super Bowl".

Such straight forward thinking is not the way to win friends and influence enemies, but has been my exact contention since 2002.

I stand corrected. In the 2003-04 playoffs, the Rams lost to the Carolina Panthers in a double overtime thriller 29-23, although this was just a divisional playoff game, it felt like a NFC Championship.

Re: Bulger needs to be Da Man
When Bulger gets reasonable protection and support, he always plays lights out. If things go as planned with the line this year, he'll return to his pro bowl form, no question.
