Re: Burwell talks about Faulk and retirement
Sounds good then. I admire your history as a player, as well. Had I not been involved in other activities, I would have loved playing football. It sounds like you really had a positive experience and a lot of good memories from it.

He was pretty good with those St. Louis Rams too.I can still remember being awed by Faulk's talent when he was with the Colts. He was amazing.

Re: Burwell talks about Faulk and retirement
Marshall is my favorite player of all time hands down. His role will diminish he will step aside and SJ will be the starter prolly the rest of the season imho.
Thats what make's me love Marshall , his ability not to deny certain truths. He has gotten older, his knees have given, and he is ready to leave his legacy. He will be with the Rams a long time. I think he will be a RB coach for this team and who better then him? He said in the beginning of the season on the best damn sports show that he is only about 80 pct of the old Marshall. He is a true gentleman and a true player. There is no controversy if Marshall says hey I am ready he will start. I have a feeling though Marshall will say that in the best interest of the team it's time to pass the torch. I think he will be a 3rd down back and will be used to confuse defences with them both out there. Here's to Marshall the greatest all around RB ever to play the game.LET'S GO DODGERS

Re: Burwell talks about Faulk and retirement
LA...I couldn't agree with you more about Marshall. He is pure class and the heart and soul of this team. I agree that he can start when he wants or feels up to it physically and mentally. It is my hope that we can come to a restructured agreement to keep him in the future. He can play a significant role as a third down back, slot receiver or in a two back set or as the feature back at times. I can sympathize with him on the wear and tear on his body. I myself have had 5 knee surgeries on one knee; leaving me at 80% of the soldier that I once was. So to see him go out and give it his all and to watch him on the sidelines coaching and sharing his knowledge is a true testiment to his value on this team. To me he is an inspiration. Warriors should be allowed to pick and choose their time to shine and when they feel it is time to hang it up.

Re: Burwell talks about Faulk and retirement
Great thread. Excellent posts (well, exclude the on-the-side dialogue between two people).
Very nicely done, r8rh8rmike. From a Coach Martz supporter.Marshall Faulk is one of the most intelligent players in NFL history and he alone knows what he can or can't do. My hope is that everyone involved is on the same page and this situation plays out in a positive way. --r8rh8rmike
