Free-agent strong safety James Butler apparently left St. Louis without a deal with the Rams on Saturday. The sides remained too far apart in negotiations. According to league sources, the Rams are still hopeful that an agreement can be reached.
Meanwhile, a news conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday to formally announce the signing of center Jason Brown.
As for cornerback Ron Bartell, the negotiations are in overtime. At least check, Bartell was still in New Orleans completing his visit.

Whenever a player leaves without a contract I dont care how hopeful the team is it usually isnt very likely they will sign. I hope he does but just like with Brown they needed to lock this guy up.
