Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
With Ron Bartell confirmed down for the season, the question now is more than ever is can Justin King step up and make some plays and be good enough to be our #1 or #2 corner? I know alot of people have been down on him in the pre-season but he looked pretty sharp Sunday, 7 Tackles and 1 sack.

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
I think Justin can step right in and make an impression. His chance has now arrived and he no doubt knows that he will be looked upon to answer the call. His sack on Vick was outstanding, The Eagles QB never saw him coming, Justin took him out like a 'Drone'!
After being tested by The Philadelphia offensive, King should be able to adapt to anything thats thrown his way and he very well should hold his own, starting against NYG, Monday night.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
I'm thinking that Justin King can hold up as our #2 CB but we NEED to pick up a CB in a trade or in FA. Some type of transaction is going to have to do go down. Anyone know what the health status of Jerome Murphy is?

I Know! I was really looking forward to seeing Murphy develope in the Rams secondary. He's out for the season with a broken ankle.
I imagine that takes a great deal of time to heal and then to come back and start playing on it, combined with getting back into game shape, chances are we won't see Jerome this year.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I think we go grab a guy. At this point we have 2 healthy corners and a banged up Bradley Fletcher. Not a recipe for success.

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
Considering that we needed to pick up a 5th guy before we lost Bartell and that Fletcher isn't 100%, regardless of whether King can start, we need another guy who can hopefully play on the outside so we can slide King inside when we need to.
I believe!

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
I think he has it in him, the pressure from the D though will play a big part in his success .? Hopefully Hakeem Nicks wont be playing this week, but I would'nt bet against him playing.? I would prefer it if the Rams went out and got another corner, but who.? Im sure Spags is looking for guys, he will not just go sign any old CB. He may have to wait for the right one to tempt DeSpags.?
I just hope its not too long of a wait because the Ravens are coming to town.?Last edited by GROUND DOG 39; -09-14-2011 at 12:29 PM.

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
King is a very impressive physical specimen. His speed was on display against the Eagles, one of the few players maybe in the league that can run down Michael Vick.
I am anxious to see what he's got.

Ya I agree with you Infiniti he was impressive. I just don't know what to make of him, maybe he was coming into that nickel position and feeling comfortable Sunday and maybe he'll excel in a outside role or maybe it's to much on his plate at one time. i'm torn about this. Really excited to see what will happen come Monday.

who sosa who?!!!? I'm like biting my nails on this one lol This is liek the only thing I've panicked about in a long time with our team. I'm not as concerned with our WR position as I am with the only having 3 CB's on the team. Well i guess 4 now Atchinson just got pulled up from the PS. Benny Sapp? he's nickel.. sigh* I'm getting stressed out! lol

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
I've always liked Hood myself, I've seen him make some pretty good plays and he's not bad in coverage either. Not sure about his run support but just what I remember about him when he played. Obviously not saying he's the best ever but if his knee is healthy might be at least servicable.

Re: Can Justin King step up enough to make a impact this season?
Looks like we've picked up nobody. So I suppose this is how our lineup at CB will look:
1. Bradley Fletcher
2. Al Harris
3. Justin King
4. Atchinson
5. ? DX? lol
Not sure exactly what we are going to do but to my guessing that is my best estimate...
Looks like we'll find out who had the right idea with this poll!Last edited by QuinnMan; -09-19-2011 at 03:26 PM.
