Can we get a lead blocker for Steven Jackson?
I watched a little special on the tv about Tomlinson and his lead blocker and how well they work together. It seems like a good concept. Yesterday Alexander had plenty of help from his lead blocker.
Do the Rams have a lead blocker for Steven? Or do we even understand the concept of making the running game happen? Can the Rams run the ball, or is this concept too foreign for them?

Past three games - Jackson has 346 yards rushing.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Against saints - 20 carries, 97 yards
Against jags - 25 carries, 179 yards
Against hawks - 17 carries, 70 yards
The jaguar game is skewing the amount. We don't run the ball very much and Jackson has been stopped for little or no gain many times.
So avenger, do you think a lead blocker could help Steven find his way "downhill" as you all love to say?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

True...that is the start, and we have a good O line.

Well, that's debatable.

Madison Hedgecock looks like he will be a devestating run blocker, but he is young and will take time to develop.
The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

According to Martz, the FB is the 2nd hardest position to learn (behind QB) in this offense. It's almost become.....no it has become cliche, but his development will require patience. I don't think we're going anywhere this year anyway, so why not throw him in and let the boy learn.

Re: Can we get a lead blocker for Steven Jackson?
I think that Martz needs to understand that the offense he has been so successful with is coming to an end. If he were to draft Bush to replace marshall and some great WR's for when Holt and Bruse leave it's possible to try and stick witht he same offense. But I think he needs to realize that with Steven Jackson a great blocking fullback is needed. If the running game becomes a bigger part of the Ram's offense the linemen will get better at it and the passing will get easier. I just don't think your upcoming WR's are in the same class as Holt and Bruce and that will keep the downfield passing game from being the staple of the offense. PA passes can be downfield, and I think that is how the team needs to adjust. If the Rams do adjust to their personnel this way I will be scared of this offense.
