Can we start calling Darell Scott by his name instead of Dorell?

    From ESPNdb.go.com:

    Darell Scott Overview:

Darell Scott is a defensive tackle who was drafted with the 103rd overall pick in the 4th round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Scott played four seasons of college football for the Clemson Tigers. Scott is 6-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 320 pounds. During his college career, Clemson inaccurately reported his first name as "Dorell", but Scott clarified the spelling of his first name upon entering the NFL.

Not as bad of an oversight at Maurice Drew-Jones on Madden 07.

Dorell "Dorito" Scott comes to the Rams as an underachieving, lazy player, lacking a motor that often is too out of shape to be in the game during the 4th quarter.

After he EARNS the reputation of being a hard-worker with a great motor I'll gladly call him Mr. Darell or anything he prefers.

But let him EARN his name on the field before we crown him the next Rams pro-bowler.

    must be kidding

I'm sure you must be kidding that a person can't be called by their given name?

On the flipside, it is interesting that with all of the investigation and homework that is done on players - a guys name can be wrong for so long. I wonder if they'll get it right on his first check.

Also, shows you how Clemson thinks of their football players - meat!

I'm sure you must be kidding that a Rams fan bow down and worship a 4th round draft pick before he even appears in one NFL game?

What happened to a player making his name on the field?

What are you talking about? I don't see anyone in this thread hyping him up as the next big thing. It's just a spelling correction.

No.. he will be Dorell until he gets me sideline passes.

P.S. I always changed MJD to just MD in 07 so that they'd actually say his name. Trading Jax for him and a 1st and 2nd was also the first thing I did as well. The bowling ball cannot be stopped! I'd be ecstatic if the Rams could pull that one off in real life too.

I believe BC's on to something .. "Dorito" has a nice ring to it .. don't you think? I can hear Spags now ..."Alright Ken" .. The game is on the line here .. send in the "Dorito!!"
