Free agent DL Michael Bennett admits he wants to be "compensated with the top guys."
Bennett has been adamant that he wants to stay in Seattle, but he's also looking for a raise on the $4.8 million he made in 2013. "Basically I took a one-year deal the year before, did a first-round tender in Tampa, so I definitely just want to be paid, you know," Bennett said. "I’m not trying to be the highest paid guy, but I want to be compensated with the top guys." Bennett is angling for the multi-year pact he missed out on last year. That could make it tough to re-up with the Seahawks, who have a number of long-term commitments (Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Russell Wilson, Russell Okung) they need to make in the near future.

This is what happens after you have a ring you want to get paid and he will be one of many that feel the same.

All teams have to deal with reloading and the cap. Some do it better than others. They can find and polish up the up and comers and have a knack for riding out the cycles of talent values. It' kind of like pulling out on the street in front of your house, if you leave at one moment your trip is hard and perilous all the way. If you stop and take a sip of coffee, it's smooth sailing all the way. But the finding and polishing is the deal.

Sorry to say, this is as far as I can go with you big analyzers and GMs at the clan.

Re: Cap Management Could Push Rams to Top of NFC West

Free agent DL Michael Bennett has made it clear he's not open to a "hometown discount" with the Seahawks.
"There is no such thing as discount," Bennett said Tuesday. "This is not Costco, this is not Walmart — this is real life. ... You want to be compensated for the way that you perform and the kind of teammate you are." Bennett is on the record as wanting to remain in Seattle, but he's more on the record for wanting top dollar. It's an understandable sentiment after Bennett got the short shrift in free agency last year. He's no better than 50-50 to return to Seattle.

Richard Sherman - DB - Seahawks

Profootballtalk reports the Seahawks and LCB Richard Sherman have yet to engage in contract extension talks.
Sherman, a fifth-round pick in 2011, became eligible for a new deal on December 29 when his third regular season in the league came to a close. He has one year left on his rookie deal at $1.389 million. Negotiations are expected to take place this spring. It would be surprising if an agreement isn't reached. Sherman will likely become the highest-paid cornerback in the league.

Yep so many good players and only a handful can be paid top dollar.
