Cardinals hot after Chillar

Green Bay - While the Packers have expressed an interest in having free agent linebacker Brandon Chillar (St. Louis) in for a visit next week, that might not happen.

According to this story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Arizona Cardinals badly want Chillar, whom will visit Monday:

Meanwhile, it looks as if the Rams are about to lose strongside linebacker Brandon Chillar in free agency. According to league sources, Chillar is scheduled to visit Arizona on Monday, and the Cardinals are expected to make a strong bid to sign him on the spot.

If he somehow gets out of Arizona without a contract, Green Bay wants him to visit. Chillar has been a starter the past two years in St. Louis, registering a career-high 85 tackles in 2007.

Free agent LB Brandon Chillar has a Tuesday visit scheduled in Green Bay.



Ok so what is the deal, AZ did not sign him on the spot. Green Bay was all about some old guy calling it a day.

Whats the deal, is there a shot we may keep Chillar after all?

I've never been a huge fan of Chillar. In my opinion, he's had one good season since he's been here and it came in a contract year. Do we have any one capable of stepping in for him now? I dunno- I would say not, but since the Rams have already take an ultra conservative approach to free agency and have passed on much better talent, I think it would be a huge mistake to break the bank for him. Now, should he come back for a reasonable contract (not really sure what that is right now), then I wouldn't tell him no and pray that he continues to play like last season instead of the previous seasons.

I don't think they'll come with a huge bid becuase this is 2 days old and they have signed Travis Laboy. I think he will end up with GB who have done nothing part of the reason B. Favre left

I think the hugh pay days are over for FA now, Draft can step in IMO.
