carriker, on this we can all agree
One great thing about this board is that on almost any topic we discuss, there are a variety of opinions that are reasonable. On almost any subject, there is typically a strong minority view that makes for lively debate.
However, i dont see how ANYONE can have a problem with either the selection or the play of adam carriker. He has met or exceeded all expectations and the expectations were quite high. He is going to be a stalwart on this team for years to come. I cant way to see chris long join him on the line!
Clifton Ryan has stats that are as good or better than carriker and he has to be considered one of the steals of the draft.
The play of Spoon is directly related to tying up blockers in front of him. Spoon is having a pro bowl year and the play of carriker and ryan is a HUGE part of that.
the future is bright for our defense. Add chris long and get leonard back healthy and we look like a top 1/3 defense in my view (health permitting of course as we learned this year)
Does anyone out there have a problem with carriker?

.
For a rookie, Carriker is a Beast.
Great Pick.
Haslett also should get some credit for the mid to late season surge.

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
Carriker and Ryan, I would say it looks good for years to come. Just think, all most all of us wanted Jenkis. I'm gald we stay will AC in the draft.
We have Wroten still trying to work his way into the mix and yeah if we get Long wow. We would be young on the D line and hugh upside.
I guess Spoon is not too small to play MLB behind some guys that can play!
We still have not given up 100 yards to a RB all year.Last edited by Rambos; -12-02-2007 at 07:38 PM.

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
Adam Carriker was a great pick in the draft by the Rams. The last few weeks especially Carriker has been coming up with the big defensive plays. The #90 will someday be posted on the Ring of Honor in the ED.

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
I was skeptical until I read about how coachable Carriker was. Once I saw that he was winning to moce to the nose or do whatever the coaches asked of him, I knew he'd be gold. What I didn't count on was finding an even better nose later in the draft that's going to let Carriker move all over the place and wreak havok!

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
GC, I agree with literally every word of that post. If we can add Chris Long to this line look out, D-line would be one of our major strengths then. Our LB's are indeed all having good years and a lot of that is because of the D-line's play, Jimmy Kennedy vs. Adam Carriker is like night and day, and yes Ryan looks like a great steal for sure. Good thing we made our 1st rounder count this year.

Carriker is one of the true bright spots in an otherwise bleak year. I have a feeling we'll see him playing in Hawaii in February one day in the future.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
Although I'm not ready to carve out his bust for Canton just yet, he's already made more plays behind the line of scrimmage than Jimmy Kennedy did his whole time with the Rams.

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
You guys have got to be kidding. This guy's a bum. The only reason he's having a good year is all the support around him. Witherspoon, Ryan, Otogwe, just to name a few. I don't know how none of you can't see that. Take those guys out of the lineup and then let's see what Mr. Carriker is made of.
Just kidding guys, he's a stud. Lol.

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
I expected him to have a solid year for a rookie. I thought he opened the year a little shakey (as expected with all rookie), but as of recent has really been coming around. As long as he doesn't hit that "sophmore slump" or whatever, I think he will have a very good year next year.

Carriker is a beast, i like that he is being moved around the line, gives him a chance to make different types of play.

Re: carriker, on this we can all agree
I know he's not getting the stats like he'd need, but are there any other rookie defenders that are getting any press for rookie of the year?
