Chad Johnson to the Rams?

Hey guys, I am a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan....I was just wondering, I have heard today on Cincinnati Radio (1530 AM) that the Bengals and Rams are discussing a possible trade. Chad Johnson and the number 9 pick in the draft for T. Holt and the second overall pick. What are your guys thoughts on that?

I think that Torry Holt is still amazing, and that this trade would be much better for the bengals if it happened.

Well then, what if the #2 pick was left out? That is to say, what if the trade was Holt for Johnson and the #9 pick.

Torry Holt and a 2nd for Johnson and their first would be a lot better. I really don't want Holt out though.

If the Bengals were that desperate(Ocho and 9 for just Holt) to get rid of Chad, they could find much better trade partners than us. I'm sure the Skins would send them their first and Randle El for Chad.

Holt, even as good as he is, is not worth an elite WR who is in better shape than he is and a top 10 pick.

That said, I would not make the trade unless it was lopsided very much in our favor, such as Holt and #2 for Chad, #9 and their second.

BINGO!!! We have a winner! There's no way that the Rams should even remotely consider trading the 2nd pick in the draft. However, to make this deal a go, our 2nd ROUND pick may be an option.

Boy two weeks ago I hated the idea of Chad Johnson coming here but this trade rumor is interesting. There has been good cases made here on both sides of the argument.

If this rumor has legs, here's what I think: The Rams will do it if they think OT is their most pressing need. Slipping to #9 will allow them to get a good OT in the draft this year. The Rams will also get a WR in Johnson, who has lots of tread left and will stretch the field.

The Rams won't do it if they really want a top notch DL man. Slipping to #9 will ensure that none are left by the time they choose. By keeping Holt and #2, they get the DL man they want and a WR in Holt who is a class act and can still get 1000 yds, 80+ receptions and 7-10 TDs.

It should be interesting, IF this rumor is true to see how it turns out.

Personally, I would take Chad and their #9 pick for the #2 overall. But I would leave Holt out of the trade. At #9 the Rams could possibly still get Gholston/Ellis/Otah. It would be great if they brought in a WR like him to play next to Holt. Especially after they released Bruce.
