Merriman has the right to an appeal, and until it is heard he is eligible to play. I don't see how this could be considered "pathetic" considering it has been a right given to the athlete in question through the NFLPA for awhile now. He feels that he did nothing wrong, so he is allowed to state his case at his appeal, and then the new NFL Commissioner or someone from the NFLPA decides whether or not he will be suspended based on the evidence and facts presented at his hearing. It's probably highly unlikey that he will get off based on what his testimony is- but in the rare event that the test results were somehow messed up, or it was proven how Merriman did nothing wrong at all-then why shouldn't he be able to play? There is always a chance that someone could be truely innocent in a situation like this, and if the NFL automatically suspended people once they test positive without first hearing the athletes side of the case, then I would consider that to be "pathetic".
Back to the subject of the injury report, this is typical Marty Schottenheimer for ya. One of our players could have accidentally bit his tounge during practice and Marty wouldn't hesitate to list him as "Questionable" for Sunday.:)
Re: Chargers injury report
well, I think the Chargers should forefit any game games he has played in if they fine out he did use.
