Chiefs LB fined $7,500 for hit on Steven Jackson

Kansas City linebacker Demorrio Williams has been fined $7,500 for uneccessary roughness in last week's game against the St. Louis Rams.

The penalty occurred on the Rams' last offensive play of the game _ an interception thrown by quarterback Sam Bradford that was picked off by Chiefs safety Kendrick Lewis.

Lewis had already run out of bounds on his interception return when Williams delivered a blow to the head of Rams running back Steven Jackson far away from the play, knocking Jackson to the ground.

The Chiefs won the game 27-13.

That is some real BS. They should do more than fines in some of these cases. $7500 isn't enough to make these guys stop and think. Not with the salaries they bring home.

i'm cool with fines, but in cases of clear maliciousness I say a suspension should be in order as well. Here's a thought, howabout some of that money going to victims or their charities.

Hmmm just rewatched th play and it didn't get shown on air, and the announcers didn't mention anything but the fact there was a penalty. Must've been a pretty minor hit.
