Week 8 Nominees
Man, what a pleasure it is to be able to finally be able to do one of these polls after a win! This is the first week in which I may be leaving out a worthy candidate. Here is my list of nominees:
Steven Jackson
Jackson took the reigns and had a monster day (159 yards rushing, 191 yards from scrimmage, 2 TDs). He also fired up the team before and during the game.
James Laurinaitis
He was all over the field with 10 tackles, a sack, and some great pass defense. JL is truly a three-down LB.
Chris Long
Long was a terror on the edge, recording his first sack hat trick of his career. He now has 6 sacks in 7 games.
Darien Stewart
Had another very good game with five tackles and a pick 6 to seal the deal.
Josh Gordy
With all the bad fortune the Rams have had at the CB position this year, its nice to see a "find" like Gordy step up. He had 7 tackles and key first half interception.Last edited by AvengerRam; -11-01-2011 at 09:34 AM.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

This was close for me between Chris Long and Steven Jackson. Jackson got my vote.....

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
This one is really hard. You can argue that Jackson is the overall MVP of the game due to him carrying the offense both physically and emotionally. Chris Long killed a few Saints drives with a well timed sack. Overall I think in the scheme of the game I think Stewart's pick six was the biggest play, saints had momentum at that point and could have been dangerous late in the game. Stewart stepped up and made a huge play to seal the game away. I think Stewart deserves this one.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
I went with JL because I thought he set the tone early and didn't let up. I think this fueled the d to hold an offensive juggernaut to their lowest point total of the year.
What I love is all of the choices are deserved... Heck you could make an argument to include Quinn and Llyod on the above list.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
Its hard to choose just one player because quite a lot of the guys did well. For example, aside from the nominees i kept seeing Chris Chamberlain pop up on D and specials, Robert Quinn was great, Al Harris was great in coverage, and AJ Feeley mananged the game well.
However, when it comes down to it, we don't win this game without Steven Jackson

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
Steven Jackson, I think this was the best game of his career, not just great numbers that he put up and a big win. But SJ calling out the players on the field and on the sideline it's going to part of his legacy. Then to read later that he gave a pregame speech about fighting until then end just made it a great game for him and the Rams.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
Steven Jackson no doubt. I would've consider debating Stewart for sealing the deal but Jackson pretty much carried the team behind his back for the win. He's a prime example of a leader and scolding Saffold for the false start made the team rebound from a couple of bad drives.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
A true vocal leader of this team was born last Sunday. I do not think you can underestimate what emotion and character displayed by Jackson will have for the rest of the year. I have been looking for someone to step up and here it is. SJ39 is the MVP this week amongst many worthy perofrmances.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
As others have mentioned, Jackson not only lit it up on the field, he lit up the entire team and virtually willed the Rams to victory. You can't put a measure on that, it was off the charts. This is no contest for me. The Beast by a mile.

Gotta be Jax ... for reasons already mentioned.
All of 'em.If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
This was truly a great TEAM win, it's hard for me to pick!
I have to go with Jackson though, because it looks like he was really getting on this team about shocking the world Sunday. I heard he couldn't sleep the night of the game because of all the thoughts going through his head.
This is one of those games where you want to give everybody a team ball.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
Jax's unique persona and performance for this game was key. Definitely got my vote! But I thought Quinn could have made the list -- if only barely.
Well, this way RQ will have to keep trying even harder. And I do believe he will.

Re: ClanRam 2011 Rams MVP (Week 8 Poll)
Jackson played a great game and would not let this team lose. He has my vote. However, I have to give a nod to Robert Quinn. I feel like if he doesn't block that punt and give us all the momentum, the game may have had a very different result.
