Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
From Clayton's ESPN blog.Cameron heads Rams' list: The Rams are making a big push to hire Cam Cameron as their offensive coordinator. Cameron won't go to Dallas now that Jason Garrett decided to stay as offensive coordinator. Scott Linehan has been pushing hard to bring in a play-caller to replace Greg Olson, who was fired. Cameron is his next target.

Re: Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
i think it was foolish to pay jason garrett that much money.. 1 year as offensive coordinator.. 3 years in the leauge as a coach.. but cam cameron would be great...

Re: Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
With the Dallas and whiner opportunities gone, the odds are getting better to pick him up, but he still seems to be in no hurry to take a position.

Re: Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
linehan is tryin to turn this team around . because he knows this is his last year as rams head coach ,but Im sure he wants to coach beyond next season and would want to become a high prospect for a head coaching job after next season.

Re: Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
I think he will end up here and he wont be payed Jason Garrett type money even though IMO he is more qualified than Garrett to get that type of money because of his experience, but simply won't get it because of 1-16

Re: Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
Personally, I'd be surprised if Cameron took the job. I'd like to see it happen, but given the situation now with ownership, I would think anyone brought in for a look would have serious doubts as to the future of the organization and the coaching staff.
On the other hand, it could be a great opportunity for him to get back into a HC position if Linehan fails.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: Clayton: Rams making big push for Cameron
I'm getting a little bit less positive about getting Cameron. I still want him, sort of, he can only be better than Olson so it's an improvement to our staff.
But the thing that's nagging me is what the heck was he doing in Miami? I'm not just talking about their abysmal record but the moves they made. They traded Welker to New England, cut McMichael so we got him, traded away Chambers to San Diego. All 3 of their best receiving options, with those 3 and Ronnie Brown they only needed a QB (their O-line is actually decent) to have a pretty good offense. But with those trades they now need a whole lot of pieces to have any offense. What was the plan there? Getting rid of all their playmakers (who are all playing fairly well for their new teams now)? It looks like they'll be at the bottom of the league for quite a while now.
I liked him in San Diego which is the reason why he is highly regarded of course, but then again he had superior talent there. And I think the FO in San Diego had a lot to do with the success he had by getting him that kind of talent.
Anyone else questioning what he did in Miami? I didn't follow the Dolphins at all this year so I'm not sure what the story was, did their FO force those moves on him? It seems unlikely that he wouldn't at least have signed off on it even if he didn't come up with it himself (or maybe he did even come up with those moves?)?
