    Clemens has to be benched

Without Bradford there are going to be a lot of close games and Clemens has zero ability to move the ball when it matters. Two 4th down passes in 6 days thrown that didn't even give the receiver a chance. Let's see what Austin Davis has got.

i agree, but it wasn't clemens who lost this game

cunningham dropped the ball without even being touched when the rams were going to score

people not finishing routes, defense not being consistent and allowing, once again, ANOTHER player resurrect his season

too many problems to point the finger at the quarterback

but i do think it's davis' time

and it's obvious fisher needs to replace some coaches...

Re: Clemens has to be benched

I think Clemens is doing what he can as a backup. Starters like Chris Long and JL who cannot play the run whatsoever and had terrible games are more likely targets for my ire right now.

Long has never played the run at all as all he does is dive inside to try to pressure the QB on every snap. JL is not having a good season at all either. These two really need to step it up. Clemens is a backup and plays like a backup. He wasn't the big problem today.

I think if you can put 20+ points on the board with your backup QB (and potentially more) then you need to start looking elsewhere for the problem. Like the fumble by Cunningham near the goal. Or the penalties. Or the defense that can't tackle and lets RBs gash us like crazy. Or the secondary that lets 7 yard slants go for 40 yards.

Clemens is a problem but our team all around just flat out sucks. Unless we get a quality QB in there, we won't do anything.

Re: Clemens has to be benched

Celemens was channeling his inner Alex Smith today. He was not the reason we lost this game. It comes down to two things. Our rush defense and Cunningham fumbling.

There is no lane discipline from the defense at all. We know we have big edge rushers but the center of the DLine completely crumbles. Then there are neither linebackers or safeties around the middle either. Tennessee completely abused the middle of our defense all day long. Walton seems unable to address this issue that has plagued us all year long.

I cannot understand why Fisher will not put Pead out there even after Cunningham cost us a shot at a touch down early in the game. And Shotty saying he was going to feature Austin more sure panned out. Two targets and one end around.

Neither one of our coordinators seem to have a clue what they're doing.

Agreed. Clemens finished with a QB rating in the mid 80s today. That's not too shabby for a marginal player making only his second start of the season.

Absolutely. The issue was our inability to stop their run. I do not think clemons plays LB???

Bench Clemens? Not going to happen. Other than the fumble, he played a solid game. There's a reason they call backup QB's backup QB's, and if you expect them to perform like starters, you're dreaming. He did much more than his pay grade dictates. If you're looking for Davis anytime soon, don't hold your breath.

Clemons had the fumble that cost the Rams. He had some good moments but he is basically a disaster waiting to happen. I'm not sure there is a better option. I don't see fisher benching him over what we have seen so far.

GZ missed another kick. It was good to see that the defense was back to its normal self which keeps things less confusing for Rams fans.

Yea... Clemons did a little more than what it said on his tin today...

Hell I don't even really blame him for the fumble. The pocket collapsed he stepped up....and that big ol #99 hit the ball away. You could argue better ball security whilst stepping up, and a better throw to Pettis at the end but.....meh. Awful run D.... And a bonehead fumble by Cunningham there's your answer.

I actually felt a bit sorry for Finnegan too. Thought he played great against his old team.

    Stooopid Rams...

Re: Clemens has to be benched

Clemons and the offense is the least of our problems. As for playcalling on defense though, Walton has been terrible. It's like he's baiting their offense to exploit our weaknesses. What happened to those aggressive 8-man fronts that helped stop the run? I know this defense is more talented than last season, but they happened to regress thanks to Walton's playcalling.

Re: Clemens has to be benched

Why must we always immediately peg the QB as the scapegoat after a loss?

Clemens played much better than you can expect from a backup QB.

I blame the Oline for the fumble, seeing that the pocket collapsed immediately.

There are numerous other options that deserve more blame than our backup who led the offense to over 20 points.

What about Cunningham fumbling on the first drive when Clemens was rolling down the field completing every pass he threw.

Or maybe the defense who got ran all over and let the Titans sprinkle in huge completions throughout the game.

Or Fisher/Walton for continuing to use defensive schemes that have proven not to work well over schemes that have had great success(Seattle).

Or maybe the receivers for having a few more costly drops.

Or GZ for missing a FG that we like to think is a chip shot for him.

Or Marc Bulger because everything is his fault at the end of the day.

Re: Clemens has to be benched

you cant bench a back up after 2 weeks. He's done what he can all things considered. The Rams just suck as a whole and he's on the ship with them so to speak.

.....meanwhile TB is leading Seattle 21-7....what the hell is happening over there ?
