Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday it's the worst injury report in his three seasons.
Associated Press
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams are one injured football team, from running back Steve Jackson likely to miss next Monday's game against the New York Giants with a strained right quadriceps to cornerback Ron Bartell likely out for the season with two fractures in his neck.
And that's not all: quarterback Sam Bradford has a bruised right index finger that knocked him out of Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Eagles but is expected to play, while wide receiver Danny Amendola is out indefinitely with a dislocated left elbow.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday it's the worst injury report in his three seasons.
Bartell, the Rams' top cover cornerback, underwent a CT scan and an MRI exam at a hospital after the game. The team initially believed the injury was a stinger.
Teammate Justin King said Bartell was trying to tackle Eagles running back Ronnie Brown midway through the fourth quarter when a Philadelphia lineman dived to block Bartell and hit the cornerback on the top of the head. King is likely to step up to take Bartell's spot.
"It didn't look right, the impact," King said. "It's very unfortunate, it's one of the cruel realities of the game. One play and your season can be over."
Amendola, who led the Rams with 85 catches last year, also was undergoing an MRI exam. Team medical personnel did not believe the injury would require surgery.
Amendola caught five passes for 45 yards against the Eagles. Like many teams, the Rams opened with two quarterbacks instead of three and had considered Amendola their third quarterback.
Jackson was injured without contact on a 47-yard touchdown run on the Rams' first play and left with a strained right quadriceps after one more 9-yard carry. Spagnuolo characterized Jackson as week-to-week and probably out for the Giants game.
There's more, too. Cornerback Brandon Fletcher is day-to-day with a sprained toe and offensive tackle Jason Smith has a sprained left ankle.
The Rams had feared Smith had a high ankle sprain, which would have sidelined him for perhaps a month.

Laurinaitis was dinged going in but he's fine, I have not read anything saying he was hurt.

The 2nd worst this other than Bartell getting hurt is that King will be starting.

Regardless of whether you think Ron Bartell is good, great, or elite, I think we're all going to have a new-found appreciation of him while watching Justin King try to fill his shoes.Teammate Justin King said Bartell was trying to tackle Eagles running back Ronnie Brown midway through the fourth quarter when a Philadelphia lineman dived to block Bartell and hit the cornerback on the top of the head. King is likely to step up to take Bartell's spot.

There are definitely some positives to take away from this.
Bradford should be back next week, perhaps Fletcher and Smith as well.
Amendola doesn't look to ned surgery, maybe coming back after the bye.
Jackson is only being discussed as missing the next game at this point, and Williams filled in quite well in his absence.
Could have been much worse. Bartell will surely be missed though.

Amendola was the third QB? Now that is interesting.

All the injuries are mind boggling. Is this because of the lock-out? Or is the old lack of conditioning card?

Thinking back to the back up QBs we have let go over the past few years, i would definitely like to have back Ryan Fitzpatrick, and to a lesser extent Bruce Gradkowski
