Which coaches should stay?
It's pretty clear no one not no how wants Linehan to stay around. And more people are turning against Haslett. Some of you have even called for the canning of Al Saunders after just two games. So assuming we get rid of Linehan at years end, which of out coaches, if any do you want to stay?
I say keep Henry Ellard at all costs. This man has been the best coach we've had the last couple of years. Helping making Holt and Bruce one of if not the best WR tandem in the league. He made Kevin Curtis the most wanted receiver in the free agent market, he developed Shaun McDonald (not a big deal). Mike Furrey turned out pretty solid afterall. And he seems to be doing a pretty good job with Avery and Burton already. As far as Bennett...well you can't win them all. I'm not saying this is all Ellard, these guys had to have had some talent before getting here. But it seems to be the position that's been the bright spot in St. Louis. The Rams have also been one of the best teams maybe the best at hanging onto the ball.
I don't have stats in front of me but I remember reading how the Rams never dropped the ball, and how TO sucks at catching and at one point had more drops in a season than the entire Rams team.
Steve Loney, the O-line coach probably shouldn't stay with the gig. Ron Milus, the secondary coach is another one that probably shouldn't have a job, seeing how the seconday...sucks.
Who should stay? Who should watch the door hit them on the way out?Last edited by RedArcher7; -09-15-2008 at 07:06 PM.

Re: Which coaches should stay?
Good post and good questions, Red.
I can't argue with your thought of keeping Ellard around. I'd like to see him stay since he has so many years as a player and coach with the Rams. But you know it will all depend on the new head man.
Looking at the staff no others strike me as guys I'd like to see stay, except for two. I have always thought Dana LeDuc (strength and conditioning) was solid; despite recent injuries and what appears to be an overall lack of strength among the players. Hard to guage Dana for certain and whether he is really to blame.
Todd Hewitt would be the other. He is the equipment manager (not truly a coach) and has literally been with the Rams his entire life. His father Don Hewitt was equipment manger for the Rams for 28 seasons.
