Rams trade for Donte Hall
From what i've read the rams have/will traded a 5th round pick for kansas city's donte hall. I can't find this anyway else on the net, but it would be nice to get a decent KR

Re: *RUMOUR* Rams trade for Donte Hall
Chiefs board was proposing throwing in Dante Hall to try and get a Jenkins deal done. Most Panther fans did not want him. He has lost a step and is in the downside of his career. With the speed in this draft, you can pick up a young PR/KR in the 4th-7th rounds.

Re: *RUMOUR* Rams trade for Donte Hall
Not a rumor...
from espn..
The St. Louis Rams traded a fifth-round pick in this weekend's NFL draft to the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday to acquire one of the NFL's most dynamic kick returners.
"We have filled a need with one of the top players in football at his specialty, returning punts and kicks," Rams coach Scott Linehan said. "Dante will fit in nicely on our special teams and can be utilized as a receiver in certain situations."
Hall has 12 career kick-return touchdowns, one behind Eric Metcalf for second all-time. Brian Mitchell holds the NFL record for kick-return TDs with 14. Hall had one kick-return touchdown in 2006.
Last season, Hall returned 53 kickoffs for a 22.8-yard average and 27 punts for an 8.9-yard average. He also had 26 receptions for two touchdowns.

I just heard it on ESPN radio.
For a 5th round pick."There's only one way to succeed in anything, and that is to give it everything. I do, and I demand that my players do."

Re: *RUMOUR* Rams trade for Donte Hall
i dont love this move, but i dont hate it either. I would have thought that a #6 was more appropriate. I see hall as on the downside of his career.
If true, i hope that the ted ginn people will accept the reality that he is NOT going to be a ram. I also think that this puts dane lookers roster spot in serious serious jeopardy. I dont think we carry a player just to be a holder on kicks. Looker had zero catches last year i believe and he would now be the #5 receiver and i think we are more likely to have a kid in that spot.

Good trade the Rams get a proven kick returner and do not have to waste a pick on Tedd Ginn.

Sure enough. Confirmed: it is now on the St. Louis Rams Official web site.
Thanks British Ram!

confirmed, dante hall is a ram
the rams have traded a #5 for dante hall. Its on the front page of the espn website. As i said in my earlier post (and as a number us have been saying for some time), cross ted ginn off your lists. If you take away the return need, there is no real need for ginn at this time since he will have little to no immediate impact and we need defense a lot more.
Again, i also think dane looker may be gone. He had no catches last year and i dont think we use a roster spot just for a holder. I like looker, i have no problem with him staying, i just dont think that its likely. I think we will have a kid on the roster as the #5 receiver, maybe even dominique thompson.

Re: *RUMOUR* Rams trade for Donte Hall
IMO he will still have plenty to offer, Hall only turns 29 during next season so he isn't exactly an old player and his body hasn't been exposed to many plays as he has been used very lightly as a WR. I would expect that to continue now, his main contribution will be on return's and he should improve that area over what we have had since Horne..

Re: *RUMOUR* Rams trade for Donte Hall
i think that hall will be the #5 receiver , looker has the better hands , know's the system , hall was brought in for what they said , kickoffs and punt return duty . i would be surprised if he got more receptions than looker . and if teams keep a long snapper on a team to do one thing , they sure will keep the best holder in the league on . look what mike furrey did after leaving . looker is more talented than furrey .

Anybody know his contract details?

Re: *RUMOUR* Rams trade for Donte Hall
I dont think looker is more talented than furrey. Also, a long snapper is a LOT harder to find than a holder. Simple supply and demand. You would be hard pressed to find many wide receivers who stay on one roster from one year to the next when they are slow, not young and have zero catches the year before. Again, i am not saying its impossible, just less likely.
