I was never a PF fan. My limited exposure to their work caused me to avoid them; what I listened to I disliked.

Their music is too depressing, too hopeless, to nihilistic, for me to enjoy.

But, there were one of the most talented bands out there. I remember doing some comparing of their work to the Guess Who and Dire Straits. PF's work was clearly superior.

Give me the fun, uplifting sounds of the Beach Boys, or a real expression of life from the Beatles, or the lose-yourself music of Cold Play anyday over the "life sucks, life's empty" music of PF.

Nice work AV,
PF music is deep enough to reach every corner of your own mind and all that you have been, and will be. It's not the lyrics, it's the architecture of each chord from Gillmans guitar, Wrights keyboard, and Masons drums.

The Dark Side of the Moon.............

I bought the LP (which I still have, by the way) the first day it was released.

I took it over to one of my friends' house. His parents had a top-of-the-line Marantz set-up. We got very high.
We cranked up the volume.

There is nothing that compares to hearing DSOTM for the first time.
