Could a KR be found within the family?
If you were watching the CFL Grey Cup semi-final highlights, you may have noticed a 97 yard KR by a guy named Arland Bruce - Ike's cousin! After the finals, maybe he should be brought in for a tryout as a KR?
Couldn't hurt.

I'm open for suggestion. I think Bruce should speak up. You know they'd listen to him.

Re: Could a KR be found within the family?
Before we put him on the proverbial pedestal, I have a question....how strong was the opponent? Had they been able to stop other opponent's ST units? If so, grab him. If not, wait and see.

Re: Could a KR be found within the family?
sometimes returners are found in the strangest places...when the Bills drafted Terrance McGee nobody, not even the coaches knew he could return kicks...now he has 2 TDs this season.

Re: Could a KR be found within the family?
That has been the only kickoff return this year according to the 2004 CFL Special Teams stat link. He has also got 6 punt returns for a whopping 22 yards. I did see some nice numbers for 2002 as a receiver, though. Could be a nice replacement for Looker at WR, and let him share Return duties with McDonald, since it looks like Harris might be gone next year.
Does that sound fair enough?Super Bowl Champions 2013!

Re: Could a KR be found within the family?
Actually, you were looking at his playoff stats (that's when he had the 97 yard KR).

332 yards
19.5 average

Again, given his relationship with Ike and the fact that our KR has been so poor, why not give this guy a look?

Re: Could a KR be found within the family?
Well we've been waiting since Horne left. Anything would be better than waiting any longer. Resurrect the dead. Do the time warp. I don't care. Just do it. Maybe Leon needs another paycheck. Whatever. The revolving door of slugs back there just isn't the ticket.

OK, I'll take the boo-boo on the stats. I'm just not ready to get too excited about anyone just yet. I don't wanna get caught in that trap just to set myself up for disappointment, which is what has ended up being the case for the last several years. I don't mind giving him a look, just not gonna be singing his praises until the results are there. If that makes me the bad gal, I can live with that.

I'm not saying he's the next Tony Horne. I just think that when you have such ineptitude on KRs, it couldn't hurt to give a guy like this a look.

Re: Could a KR be found within the family?
He can't be worse. That is, unless he fumbles. He was in the NFL before, on the Whiners no less. I wonder what numbers he put up in the big show?

He didn't get too much of a chance with the Whiners. Perhaps he's honed his skills since then. You never know. In any event, after the Grey Cup, he'll be available.
