Could the turf be to blame for all these injuries?
I saw Hines Ward make a comment after the game while talking about losing Willie Parker: "Anytime you're on this turf, if your foot gets caught wrong, it can be a serious injury."
Could this be a major factor in all the injuries the Rams have suffered this year? Many of them have been leg and ankle injuries, and they've been screwing with this turf for years. Anyone have any idea on how many players have been injured at home vs. away?
Wish there was some way to purchase a new outdoor stadium so the players could play on grass. I've always preferred grass over turf, outdoor over indoor, and I think it'd give more of a home field advantage. Oh well.
EDIT: Also notable is that many of our major unrestricted free agents seem to think the grass is greener on the other side. Wistrom went to Seattle, Kevin Carter to Tennessee (though he was franchised, not unrestricted), Ryan Pickett to Green Bay, Trent Green to Kansas City, London Fletcher to Buffalo... is this just selective memory?
